I think we need to start discussing what we've now gleaned from Zeon boards. Processing it, as it were.
Fact: Zeon's ultimate goal in the relatively near future is the capture (destruction only if necessary) of Belfast. I think we can all agree we do NOT. WANT. THIS. I see a few ways we could deal with this, though I'm not a huge fan of many of them.
1. Try and beat the clock, and catch the Zeons in South America with the 87th. It's unlikely they'd tarry long after their assaults on our convoys, though, and this likely would not happen soon enough.
2. Load as many PCs as we can onto Medeas, cut through the ocean, and paradrop on their fleet. We'd manage, but not soon enough to prevent the convoy destruction, it would basically be to try and make them spend as much of their booty getting back to normal fighting strength as possible.
3. Ignore their fleet and hit Archangelisk. On the plus side of this, we'll totally roll over the base. We have almost as many MS, and most of ours are PCs, thus better MS and better pilots. We also have overwhelming sea and air support, arctic gear on many PCs, and CCTs. On the negative side, we leave New Amsterdam unsupported and Archangelisk is only a fortification, so we don't gaurantee they won't go for Belfast.
4. Ignore their fleet and hit Constantinople. Plus side, if we take it then we control Europe. If we defend it, we have a war factory to use all to ourselves. This would yield kick-ass status for us. Unfortunately, they have... I think it's 41 MS there. That's double what we have. We can still get a few more to add to our attack force, but we're still heavily outnumbered. Our MS are better, as are most of our pilots, but we'd take heavy losses even if we can take it, and that's a heavy if. We still have overwhelming air superiority, and I'm supremely confident in Aleksei, and the rest of naval forces. It's that huge supply of MS that's the issue. Our two Big Trays would be a great help, though. This option is RISKY. This cannot be emphasized enough. But the more I look at it, the more I want to try it.
5. Ignore their forces and hit Hughendon. It's pretty ripe for the taking, and would grant us control of Australia. This needs to be done at some point, but I don't think now is the time. We're too far away to get to Europe and help Belfast if need be. So again, we need to do this, but I think a little later.
6. Sit in New Amsterdam. Pros, we keep it safe. They're considering going up north to hit it before they go to Belfast, and we're strong enough to stop them in a direct confrontation if we need to. Unfortunately, we don't be proactive then. We don't accomplish anything, which is what we need to be doing. I don't care for this option.
So. Let's discuss.

If we lost at Constantinople it could be the end of the war for us, that is a risk I don't really like. Plus if we wanted to assault it, we need it scouted, something we lack currently. Scouting is a HUGE deal the only reason I am ok with assaulting these other bases with out scouting is that we overwhelm them in numbers.
I would like to provide a large threat to their fleet but not necessarily all out attack it. I would say we can't do 4, 5 or 6. Those are pretty much out of the question. We still have a lot of people with arctic gear, why not keep that used still and just go after Vladivostok. They seem to expect a move to hit Archangelisk, especially from our chatter on the EF boards. This will catch them a little off guard and if they move their Apsalus to Archangelisk it would have to be on Monday, this means we would NOT want to attack that base as it would likely blow a whole clear through one of our ships. So here would be a revised operation:
Monday: 87th Moves to East Arctic, 42nd Brigade (medeas) move to Pacific, strikey operation against zeon 9th
Tuesday: 87th attacks Vlad, 42nd attacks zeon 9th (if open).
Wednesday: 87th moves to East Arctic, Kyle does build operation on vlad to make it a fortress, 42nd retreats to pacific. Damaged or greater ships repair at Vlad.
Thursday: 87th moves to West Arctic or Europe. 42nd moves for repairs.

Anyhow, continuing thoughts on this:
Pros: If successful could give us another friendly territory which could make up for any side fleet loses. This would also cause more of a cramp in any of their movement plans as the East - West Arctic provides quick travel around the world.
Cons: More patrols cost us more side RP, something I think have about the same as Zeon in right now but we would likely be draining our account more. I believe that supply fleets will rebuild however, so we can just hope that they will do so. None of these attacks lower the amount of Side RP gained by the Zeon.

I dunno, I'm not sure I care for building Vladivostok into a fortress. We'd have to go through the whole process of slowly building up defenses again, which would waste RP and time. And really... they could spend the entire RPG without ever needing to cut through the East Arctic. It is a shortcut to nowhere. They never would NEED to take it. If we attack Vlad, I say we just level it.
Perhaps would could send Seth or Jim or the Core Booster pilot to go on a massive scouting rush of all Zeon bases?

I would be ok with leveling Vladivostok as well, the reason we would want to turn it into a fortress however is that it would give us 200 more side rp per update as well as the 180 RP that we would gain as well. The short cut comes in that they can quickly get access to attacking the west arctic from any point while it is a short cut for us in that we are able to move from the west arctic to the east arctic and be in position to hit any point in the northern hemisphere with our fleet in under two days. It also provides a launch point for any attacks we might have into central asia.
We definitely need zeon bases scouted, lots of them. It could be good to send seth on a scouting mission especially of bases such as Constantinople and Hughendon etc.

The 180 RP and 200 side RP would indeed be nice, but I don't think it's worth how much RP we'd have to funnel into defenses.

Im thinking offensive. They are down to two gaws and a dobday. If we go in hard with the 87th while there in our territory and use Snipers and Rail cannons to take out the gaws then retreat before the PC forces can hit us we could effectively blunt all there ops.
I dont think trying to roll zeon bases will be effective right now since they can just as easily take ours out. If we hit their fleet THEN go for bases we will have more luck.
As for making more territory's at this point its kind of a wast of RP like Kyle said. Between the time we need to spend doing it and their forces/EXP it wont stop much except our Side RP from growing.

Okay. Oddball idea here. Might not be worth doing, but it's worth considering, I think.
We break the fleet into North America. We'll hit patrols, I'm sure. But we can also kill those patrols, I believe. And if we're in North America we have better response abilities. They move to North America, as I believe they will? We hit them the next day. They go for an ocean? We can redeploy to counter their movement, or just plain hit Mexico City, or something. Plus, they won't expect it, which I am always a huge fan of.
Thoughts?

That would work but Im not a fan of being on the defensive in enemy territory. Plus they still have two Jukons they can barrage us with. (I wrote this big plan I thought up before I read that Kyle so Im posting it still lol) We could have Scott Archer buy GM Sniper support and hit a gaws engine while they attack the resupply fleet. This would disable a gaw buying the 87th time to move in and attack them head on. While this is happening, Jojo should reform a medea fleet and use it to storm one or both gaws in an attempt to capture them while the 87th is engaging their main forces. If the main forces of the 9th turn to engage Jojo he could do one of two things: A: Threaten to kill the crews if they attack him or B: plant explosives as his marines advance into the gaws and blow them as they retreat(if they have to) Risky? Hell yes. But If it works we gain two gaws and pretty much crush the zeon forces for the near future. If it doesnt? we still cripple them allowing us to finish them off or they limp back to California and hide for another week or so. Regardless of whether you like that or not we should still try to get the 87th in position to engage them. With the PC's we have that cn take out Gaws and a few NPC units we can easuly get the job done. I just think storming and taking two gaws would really help out Jojos Airborne fleet That also goes along the lines of something they wouldn't expect to happen

Maybe we can merge both plans by hitting them as they retreat to California Base?

As you can see, their forces are identical, so striking either doesn't matter too much besides the quarry of grabbing Matilda. Anyhow. We're going up against 5 Medeas and 12 Tin Cods, 4 of them which are leveled. To deal with a mainly airbone convoy, I suggest we send in our fleets Dopps and Gunship Hellis first and then follow suit with the rest of our forces. As extra insurance, we can always spend 100 RP and grab Flight Support if need be.
This strategy they want to employ would almost certainly allow the plan I suggested to work. If all the air cover is engaged and then the 87th's 60 tin cods join the fray, there's no way they could muster a defense to stop a boarding action if Jojos medeas drop down onto them.
If I give you my RP Jojo you could have 2 more Medea Revised full of planes and marines. and if you did a para drop style action you could land a medea each on top of a Gaw to allow the marines to blow there way in?

The 87th CAN'T be there to participate in a battle until Wednesday. By then they'll either have either destroyed one and fled, or destroyed both and be there for us to punish afterwards. The only way we can engage them during their attack is if we split our Medeas off from the fleet, make a new fleet of them, and Paradrop from the ocean. And that's assuming they make a second fleet attack at all. It also gives us far less aircraft to field.
We can probably bait them into that second attack, though. Try, at least. We set our movement as being to somewhere else, like say, Hughendon or Australia. Which necessitates passing through the Pacific Ocean. We then change our destination, switch up composition, and paradrop as many PCs as we possibly can on them.

fine lets just take the 87th to Australia and destroy Hughendon and ingnore there fleet actions. If we attack they will come to use like you said.

I'm not sure they will. What I'd meant was that if we declare our course for Hughendon, they'll keep attacking the fleets. Of course, their Command board looks like they plan to try and hit both on day one anyway...

regardless! we are to far away to do anything to help so unless Strikey can disable one or two if the ships so we can catch up we might as well go do something ourselves instead of worrying about them.
you bought a big tray for the 87th correct? we should pool you're remaining RP with mine and buy another one. We could use the MS slots as well as another land ship.
