Noticed something about U-77 and U-88 that made me scratch my head.
Is it possible for a naval ship to move from the East side of East Asia to the West side of it without passing through the Indian Ocean by going between Sri Lanka and India? If so, then doesn't that kill most of the strategic advantage of holding Ceylon and make it odd that the EF can control all of the Indian Ocean from Sri Lanka, but not the narrow straight right next to it?

In terms of movement rules for naval vessels they can move anywhere on this map between zones so long as it doesn't cross a green line. Movement within the same zone is just considered for RP reference and it doesn't really come into strong examination.

But if that's the case then you are saying it's fine for Federation vessels to pass unhindered through the Panama Canal even if Zeon built a fortress on it or that a ship can go directly from East Asia to upper East Arctic even though you have to pass through the Pacific Ocean to get there. Giving a naval ship the ability to go across land diminishes the strategic value of the Indian and Pacific Oceans.
Edit: I also want to point out that both vessels originated from the Pacific Ocean. Their location isn't just for RP, they really did come from the East side of East Asia.

Yes it's very odd.
But I didn't want too much complexity. I think the current situation is fine.
