You mentioned that you are having issues with the volume of actions, and the number of writers you have. Unfortunately I can't volunteer to write, but you could always go to a Monday-Wednesday-Friday update schedule.
This would effectively allow you two days to each update, with only one less day during the week. I mean I doubt anyone wants the RPG to slow down by effectively a week a month, but I guarantee we'd prefer to have more downtime, to no RPG.

The problem with a 3 day schedule is our event schedule has been pretty meticulously designed around 4 update weeks. You cant just change it to a 3 day schedule without fucking up a lot of stuff. We can do 2 and 2 now and again to deal with screwups to the schedule, but 3 kind of discombobulates the system.

Well you could always run two consecutive days, and just have a floating day. Like assume:
Mon-Tues-Thur-Sat, but have the back to back day be floating to whichever day is the least busy.
