I am pretty tired of the lack of volunteers to be writers.
Before I start the rant, I want to point out that without Chris, Chan, Nirvash, Daren, and Zero-0, this RPG wouldn't have lasted nearly as long as it has. Thanks to all you guys, although I wish you could do your formatting properly! It has gotten better since I bitched about it before.
I've also had a lot of help from backup writers on hard updates. Jon, Atra and Draco especially help a lot. Thanks to you guys too.
However, we need 2 more full time writers.
We're now averaging 7 battles/events and about 20 PC's involved in them per day. That's about 30% of the RPG fighting every update.
I am going to try to write more, although just updating the rosters is taking close to 2 hours a night and is pretty tiring at this point. But even with that, Chan and Nirvash are starting to write 2 battles a day, and that is unfair to them. I expect writers to give me 2 hours a day of their time or so, but not 4-5, which is what is ending up happening. Earlier in the RPG we had 4 writers, and I used to be able to give 1 a day off each update, but now I'm having to demand that they're all around every day, which is also unfair. This kind of overworking is directly related to us taking so many breaks, because we get tired.
So, I need 2 more people to step up and be writers. 1 EF and 1 Zeon, to keep it even. That would give us 6, which at this point is less than 10% of the RPG. I think that's reasonable. There are several people who I would like to see step up. The Zeon writer only needs to stay full-time till Chris gets regular computer access again.
Now, for an ultimatum.
If I do NOT get these volunteers by Sunday, I am closing the RPG. If you guys want to see the game continue, you need to step up and offer to help. Over the past few days I saw a lot of people bug me and whine about how the update was so late or the event wasn't posted, but almost nobody offered to actually help with it.
I'm sorry that it has come to that, but we've been running without a full writer staff basically since the game opened at this point. The staff is tired, and we need some more help.
