We at a point in time in which I cannot make a choice for Zeon space but rather prefer to ask what you guys want to do.
Currently there are two EFSF fleets. I am relatively certain that the four new Salamis in Cygnus Fleet and the new Columbus are dummy balloons. The new Salamis and three new Publics in Damocles Fleet are the real ships Latooni brought. This comes out roughly to the 2,000 RP that Latooni spent.
There are two options here: Go after the Zephyr Phantom event or hold the line at +2DE. The following are two possible Operation ideas on how to achieve this.
Operation GHOSTBUSTER
Objective: Slip past the EFSF forces and head to Side 7 for the Zephyr Phantom event
Challenges: Getting past the Cygnus Fleet, Damocles Fleet, and Ohm Fleet
Rewards: Zephyr Phantom event promotions and maybe equipment.
Sequence of Events:
Week 11 Day 41 (Day 1): ZEF moves into +2DE. Cygnus Fleet might move into +2DE this day. Damocles might move into +1DE.
Week 11 Day 42 (Day 2): All Zeon pilots join the ZEF. ZEF moves to +1DE and will most likely engage Ohm Fleet. Risk of Cygnus Fleet attacking ZEF or Zeon pilots this day if Cygnus moved into +2DE previous day. Damocles might move into +2DE, Side 7, or stay in +1DE.
Week 11 Day 43 (Day 3): ZEF moves into Side 7 if ZEF successfully gets past Ohm Fleet. Risk of Damocles attacking ZEF if it stayed in +1DE. Cygnus might arrive in +3DE this day depending on sequence of events.
Week 11 Day 44 (Day 4): ZEF participates in Zephyr Phantom event. Damocles might be involved. Cygnus might arrive in +3DE this day depending on sequence of events.
The idea behind Operation GHOSTBUSTER is to move as much of the ZEF into Side 7 while the EFSF go after our asteroid mines in +3DE. While the mines have been a big advantage on our part we have a number of ways to deny or prevent EFSF interference. It is believed that the EFSF will pull one of its balloon tactics with Cygnus Fleet by using the balloons to harass the Solomon Defense Fleet so the real ships can slip through.
If Jim is willing to risk it, his FTC can spot for two artillery services whose purpose is to remove the balloons before the Cygnus Fleet can run the blockade.
We can also strip mine the affect regions. Our most opportune moment to do this is the Monday right after the ZP event, so we pretty much double our income. Since they are being stripmined in Friendly Territory, they become ruins which can be rebuilt later on at a cheaper price.
As for getting past Ohm Fleet, we can do what Johnny Ridden did the first time the ZMF Resupply Fleet had to run past Ohm Fleet. The ships kept their distance as they go around the fleet while the mobile suits keep a defensive screen against the Ohm Fleet. So we’ll do the same.
The Tivvay and Chivvay are both marginally faster than the Magellans (Ohm himself is Damaged) and the Salamis is Heavily Damaged anyway. The Jicco will fire a cloud of anti-beam particles to help give the ships a head start to distance themselves from the Magellans. The Jicco will then speed away to protect itself and will meet up with the other two ships later. The two warships will scatter Minovsky Particles as they run.
So all we have to worry about is the Saberfish. The battle opens up with an artillery service just as the ZEF ships are trying to run around Ohm Fleet. Jim’s MPSET will provide a large Minovsky Craft cloud cover for the Zeon defenders as the Saberfish close with them. Kuriboh will use her MS’s bits to attack the Ohm Fleet’s two Columbuses to try to prevent as many Saberfishes from launching. Laredo’s Zaku II E will use its cameras to help guide the ZEF ships away from Ohm Fleet. Yoritomo, Isaiah, Radune, and Frenzy will do their best to hold off the Saberfish and Public ships.
The key to this is for everyone to go on Overwatch when they join the ZEF. This way, we can be prepared for Ohm or Cygnus Fleet. Cygnus is a much easier target since its half dummy balloons by my calculations.
Operation WEDGE
Objective: Hold +2DE and take on Cygnus Fleet, then Damocles Fleet when it moves into +2DE. Then either fight our way past Ohm back to +3DE or wait for the Ridden in the ZMF Fleet to come pick us up.
Challenges: Surviving attacking two fleets on consecutive days and have enough strength to make it back to +3DE or to last long enough to be picked up with Ridden and the ZMF Resupply Fleet.
Rewards: Protection of the Asteroid Mines
Sequence of Events:
Week 11 Day 41 (Day 1): ZEF moves into +2DE. Cygnus Fleet might move into +2DE this day. Damocles might move into +1DE.
Week 11 Day 42 (Day 2): All Zeon pilots join the ZEF. ZEF attacks Cygnus Fleet. Damocles move into +2DE.
Week 11 Day 43 (Day 3): ZEF attacks Damocles Fleet.
At this point, the ZEF can either wait for the ZMF Resupply Fleet or start attacking the Ohm Fleet. The key behind this Operation WEDGE is the fact that each of their fleets is weaker than our ZEF. Spread over two days we have a good chance of beating them since they are divided.
