Alright, this is where we can stick several ways to uh, use the rules to our advantage. (Exploit is a bit strong a word, yes?) This is where to jot down your ideas so other officers might see them and keep them in mind, especially if you're not going to use the trick right away. Custom rockets on any ship: This works best if there is an MS-piloting officer around, but it will work with any high VP PC, and it works even better if they're repairing. Basically, you have them command the ship for one event. This will - Prevent their unit from being further damaged that event
- Give you access to anti-beam rockets, Minovsky Particle bombs, MIRVs, dummy balloon rockets (in space), marines in missiles (lol), and other customized payloads.
- It might be a higher VP level than the current captain, even after halving. Our current aces are around a level 4 captain on earth, and a level 3 in space. Officers who pilot MS would be higher, around 5+.
- It might (Do NOT count on this ever) give the ship a tiny bit of plot armor.
- The higher a rank the PC has, the better they might do. At least, don't put a E2 in command of a ship without careful thought.
- PCs with a Destroyed counter are particularly good choices for this, since they can't do much else.
The risks aren't that large, mainly: - It's possible to get Injured levels, keeping you from piloting the next few updates.
- If the ship blows, the PC might die, and even if they survive, their unit may be destroyed.
