Possibly disposing of that front and moving Troops to White base with the Zanzibars? o.O Aspalus could escort the ships as well. Ships like the big tray only have fighting capabilities mainly on one side. Sure they have secondary turret guns but the MPC cannons are only front facing. So defending a rear position well would require pulling back MS from that groups front line to reinforce the rear, which would let the Odessa front push through. I don't think the Zanzibar will want to engage in heavy battle without the tactical advantage like this.

Scenario C: Counter AttackThe idea here is that we forgo attacking Belfast now, maybe take out Malta, and then regroup, and react to their fleets that deploy, striking at them as they're leaving bases, etc. Hitting their forces after their side RP for the events have been spent, ideally. I think I like this idea of your three the best, though dropping in Zanzibars behind White Base does sound like an interesting idea. The benefit of destroying Malta would be that it's a softer target and would deprive the Federation of one of its fleets. Since factions don't want ruins, utterly destroying Malta would be a fair option to consider. We wouldn't be able to get an orbital drop arranged until after Odessa began though, but maybe that's not a big problem if we want to try hitting fleets en route to Odessa.

The Zanzibar Factor.I had a pretty boring day at work, and brought up using the Zanzibar at Odessa because Draco was hesitant to let it participate. I think I have possibly three scenarios that would be pretty favorable if we were to deploy a pair or more of Zanzibars *Max 3* All three ideas are generalized, just to put them out there, get some thought going on what we can do. When and if we decide on which one we prefer, can move to flush it out and detail that plan. And no matter which one we go with, the ships would be able to assist in Orbit if we can get the SAF there to lend a hand, so we could win the battle on that front too >.> Scenario A: Flank 'EmAs Dan and I were talking, there should be three fronts, two land, one sea. This could go 1 of 2 ways, either a Ship behind each front with reinforcements, or a pair of ships (trio if affordable) behind the larger of the fronts to take them from behind. Scenario B: White Base!Drop a pair of Zanzibars behind White Base once its position has been discovered, have maybe a few PCs accompany this one, preferably Ritter, and maybe Rose (Let the newtype fight Amuro) Unless Ando wants Amuro >.> and put Hans on one of the Zanzibars to use Infiltrate and Terrorist Contact to get onto White Base and disable engines or blow hole in side for Ritter to make his way on there... With a pair or trio of Zanzibars, I thought maybe we could entertain idea of counter attack while they deploy their forces towards Odessa, to have a team attack Belfast. I mean, honestly, we're suppose to lose Odessa, so if we can't find a way to win, maybe this might be best course of action. I know there are flaws :-p but still. And I dunno if Ket would allow this particular scenario either... So, it's taken me a while to recover the motivation to post, but here we are! Just a few quick thoughts from me on the upcoming Odessa shenanigans: - I'd like to volunteer to head up the defense of New York / California. Those two bases are pretty much the headquarters / nerve center of the TAF's Earth operation, and I'm not sure how many people are going to be satisfied with the prospect of having to miss the "main event" (Odessa itself) to try and defend it. As for myself...I'm a huge fan of glorious last stands, so this is perfect for me. - I'm really eager to try something against White Base, as strong as that plot armor might be I think it'd be worth trying to vaporize it with Zanzibars and the Apsalus II. I'd definitely say we keep our options open with regards to this. - I think Chris said he was considering heading up the East Asia effort, which would make sense (all things considered). With me headed to North America when I can, I guess that leaves the other officers free to head up the European effort (IC / contextually, at least)? More discussion on this, I say! - I would have to assume that Malta is going to be destroyed with the siege we have going now, so after that I am going to go ahead and agree with what was suggested earlier: we group up, and prepare for interdiction-style attacks to wear them down.
