Ok so I suggest we hit Overlord 7(henceforth "O7") today. Cygnus is in acceptible shape so long as we plan well, and O7 is very lightly defended.
Here's the breakdown: Cygnus, all ships damaged, all pc units repairing 1. We have a public, some balloons, 5 lvl3 GMs, 2 lvl2 Saberfish, and 10 Balls.
O7 has 1 lvl0 Zaku II F, and 2 Asteroid Mine Clusters, as well as a marine unit, but we don't need to worry about that.
My plan: Hold back the ships out of range, sending the public balloons, 3 GMs, the saberfish, and the pc units in to clear defenses. The Balls, and 2 GMs will stay with the ships to defend incase that one Zaku sneaks through, or Zeon buys more defenses. Once the defenses are cleared, the Buster Ichi Go and Albireo will move into firing position and decimate the mine.
Also I'm considering having the real public fire anti-beam missiles in case they somehow bought an MPC for the mine, but probably won't need to worry about it.
Questions, comments?

My comments are that you need to consider what, if any, additional defenses might be purchased today.

very true. Caleb Degrau, who owns O7, has 104 rp right now. Meaning he could afford some minor AA defenses, or two more Zakus. The two Zakus would be the most intelligent choice. I still think we'd be able to avoid much risk to the ships. Nader could focus on distracting the asteroid mines(after all they can only fire once, and in one direction), Nirvash could focus on sniping Zakus/new defenses, and I could focus primarily on Zakus, shifting to other defenses once the Zakus were gone.

We're looking at the possibility of a single MPC turret and two AA turrets. There are a variety of other combinations, though that (or replacing the AA with missile batteries) is the highest threat level they could purchase for defenses. If they went down the MS route, they'd only be able to afford 2 Zaku II F units, or a single II F with a lvl 2 pilot.
I say send the public balloons first, and once the asteroid rockets have been identified and located, the mobile weapons may begin assaulting them, and after they're destroyed, we will launch anti-beam missiles from the real public to cover the possibility of the MPC being there, and then my MS and several NPCs will begin eliminating the remaining defenses. You and a few of the other NPCs could remain on ship defense duty. Once the defenses have been eliminated, we can open fire with the ships' MPCs.

As new information has come to light, I say we don't even need to bother destroying the asteroid rocket clusters, as long as they fire away from our ships.

Yeah, I'm thinking position the ships out of range and above the mine, but send the ballons, the 3 GMs, and Nader's group in from below to force the Asteroids to fire in their direction. All they really need to do is dodge and let balloons take the heat. Manwhile, Nirvash can set up somewhere in the middle, and I'll move in from the middle to distract more asteroids and attack Zakus. Once we've all moved to position, we kill the Zakus and prevent Asteroids from firing toward the ships.

Zero: I think we should send the balloons first, still. Threat identification is a great thing, especially when it puts all of your units at 0 risk. They could buy an artillery support, too, don't forget that. That should be easier to take care of as long as we maneuver the balloons to continue down our original course, while the real units drop "down" a few Z levels to avoid the barrage.

Good point. Ok so... we send the balloons in ahead of us, drop the fleet down, and wait for the rockets and possible artillery to eradicate the balloons. Afterwards, we put our npc's at risk first by sending a pair of GMs in to take on the Zaku/distract addtional asteroids. Next, we send in the other 3 GMs to confirm that the defenses are cleared, at which point we send in pc units and ships to kill the mine.

If they do buy MPC/AA instead of Zakus, we need to make use of the real Public's anti-beam missiles.

Few things.
1) Overlord 8 is a better target due to Florian having 14 RP. 2) Note that attacking mines means you will be stuck in Side 2 an extra 2 days, just keep that in mind.

PLAN OVERHAUL! We are now talking about killing Overlord 8(O8). This mine is defended by 2x Asteroid Rocket Clusters(40 rockets), a MPC turret, and a lvl0 Zaku II F. It is owned by Florian Cuyler, who has a whopping 14 rp. This means he can buy at most 1 AA turret.

The more I look, the more I just want to go to Riah. That is what I think we should do.

ok, well, seems like the risk outweighs the benefit, so off to side 6!
