Two days of successive action. He had thrilled at the shot of encountering the Federal Forces famed "87th" fleet, the ability to rain death upon them from both the artillery lines and the call from Jukon support.
But there was one flaw in the plan. Halfway through the engagement, the artillery barrage had lessened. That massive battle tank had left. Irusk scowled a bit as he left the hangar deck of the Decimator. There was one thing he could not tolerate, and it was a break down of discipline. He didn't even acknowledge Kratikoff as he left. She watched him storm out, then muttered something to one of the crew members before following him, remembering to button the top button of her command uniform.
"Sir, where are you going?" The air of Constantinople felt more restrained than the open air of the Italian country-side, but not quite as restrained as the recycled air of the colonies.
He paused as she spoke to him, then looked at her. The G-Force Fleet had started repairs within the fortress, working to repair the damage that it had suffered during the assault on the enemy fleet.
"Going to see what the hell that tank pilot was thinking, breaking the lines like that. Without that fire support, we weren't able to sink that Himalaya. That is... unacceptable." He looked at her, his voice hot with restrained anger, eyes focused on her.
He didn't even give her a chance to respond, he turned on his heel, adjusting the gloves of his field uniform, moving with a purpose.
To find Private Hollerfelt.

In close proximity of the Decimator, the Hildolfr was similarly mounted. A bundle of wires was seen to trail from inside the open hatch of the mobile armor's cockpit up and around to a nearby catwalk, connected to the terminal that was situated there. Bryce scanned through the data that filled the screen, getting feedback on what occurred during the last couple bouts in G-Force. The 87th was a familiar enemy and they brought the very same skill and tact as they did in South America. Many of his fellow soldiers looked down upon Bryce for the stunt he pulled, as well. A normal soldier would fear the punishment he would receive from such an act, but Bryce stood vigilant. The military was just a tool. A tool that was successfully used to find Arianna.
Amongst the sound of power tools at work, Bryce caught ear of the commotion coming from the Dobday adjacent to him. Seeing Alec Irusk storm out only meant one thing. Shaking his head, he knew he was about to get a tongue-lashing from his superior. Despite the approaching fury of that man, Bryce continued to punch away at the terminal, correcting the errors he came across in the operating system.
"Master Sergeant Irusk. To what do I owe the pleasure of your presence?"
A slight grin wipes across his face as his sarcastic disrespect was blatantly obvious. Rank meant nothing to Bryce. Not when the military was just his tool.
"I presume it's about the attack on the 87th, isn't it?" He rested himself against the railing of the catwalk, raising an eyebrow as he questioned and quickly continued before Irusk could respond.
"I know it was insubordination but the recent damage that Hildolfr had taken messed quite a bit with my firing calculations in the computer so I had to move in to actually FIX those problems. She may be tough on the outside, but she's oh so sensitive on the inside."
The smirk on Bryce's face showed the pleasure he took in disregarding those who he thought didn't deserve his time. Just another person in his life who would talk down to him. This time, though, he got the jump and spoke his mind before his superior could even rip on him.

"You broke the firing lines, Private. That cessation of firepower allowed the enemy to break their carrier away, a carrier that is now free in our waters that can bring high holy hell down us, on Zeon!" His eyes didn't leave Hollerfelt, a feeling of disgust welling up inside his gust, just watching the way this soldier didn't even have the decency to treat this with the seriousness it deserved.
"Don't bullshit me. We don't design 'sensitive' systems. That is one of the most technologically advanced weapons of war, and the firepower it can bring to bear on a target should have leveled that Himalaya." He takes a step forward, back completely straight at attention, the stance of military decorum.
He had heard the rumors about the test pilot. The stunt seemed mirrored during an assignment in the heart of the Lion's Den, South America. What angered Irusk more, was the cavalier attitude that Hollerfelt seemed to have, how he wasn't even addressing a superior as the respect was due. His fists clenched tight, eyes narrowing at Private Hollerfelt.
"What is your malfunction, Private? You wear the goddamn uniform, pilot one of Our weapons, and you treat this as if it were some game. Don't you understand the issue with what happened? Your movements allowed the enemy to escape! And stand at attention when being addressed by a superior!" Of course he would pull rank, it worked while training recruits at the academy, and by all means, it should work here.
Even if he knew it wouldn't.

Bryce decided to humor his superior as he stood up at attention, the smirk on his face fading into a grimace. He straightened his uniform out and sighed.
"Sir, Zeon does indeed craft fine weaponry. However, firing calibrations were off by a lot and I didn't have time to redo everything. That's why I decided to break rank and engage the enemy. Even if I tried firing on the Federation vessels, I'd have missed by a long shot."
Bryce sighed again and turned his head away from Irusk and gazed upon Hildolfr below them. Closing his eyes, he swallowed his pride for it would do him far more use than arguing.
"I'm sorry, sir. Won't happen again. Now if you'll excuse me, I must continue with this weapons maintenance." He saluted and began to hover over the terminal, punching in various codes.
