Patrick looked on in silence as the mechanic's dead body floated lifelessly. Oxygen continued to escape from the tank with a hissing sound. Patrick grabbed for the tank and turned a valve in the off position. The hissing was immediately brought to a end.
"Sorry mate. You left me no choice." Patrick grabbed the mechanic's corpse and stashed it under a bolted down saw bench. He hoped if anyone did show up unexpectantly he would at least by himself and his comrades time to escape with Revil by hiding the body. As Patrick shoved the body under the table he grabbed the mechanic's limbs and had them and tucked across one another. The dead mechanic's eyes continued to stare at Patrick as the body was tucked into the fetal position. Patrick looked away trying to ignore the eyes, but it did no good. Patrick moved to the other side of the table only to see that the eyes continued to follow him where ever he went.
Finally he had got the dead body in a suitable position where it could not float along unguided in the hanger. It now drifted along the bottom of the table bouncing back down to the floor each time it hit the bottom. The dead mechanic's eyes always seemed to stay fixed on Patrick.
"Bollocks to you." Patrick growled as he placed a rag over the visor to cover the mechanic's face.

"Time to move General." One of the two Zeon soldiers motioned for the captured Revil to follow. All three fugitives filed out of the corridor cautiously. The lead Zeon soldier walked out of the corridor brandishing his pistol in front of him, prepared for any kind of ambush. His handgun would do him no good in a ambush, but at least he would be able to fire back in case of one.
"Don't get me killed." The old man mumbled.
"If you die we're gonna die with you. So don't worry." The Zeon soldier covering the rear snickered as they made their way out into the open. As they moved along, the sight of Zaku II C's met them. All of the Zaku II units stood silently in a row like giant soldiers awaiting to be inspected by a commanding officer. The armor shined brightly. They were met to be used for a propaganda photo opportunity that was to happen later in the evening. The group paused and stared at the sight of the mobile suits.
"They look much bigger up close." Revil remarked as he looked at one Zaku II C. He stared directly up at the face of the mobile suit, marveling at its large size. He had never seen such a thing in his life. These were the weapons that wiped out his forces at Lourm, and he had nothing to stop them. One of the two Zeon soldiers flew along side a shuttle and drifted up to the side. The soldier pressed a button on a keypad and the door to the shuttle opened allowing access to the vessel.
"Wait till he sees what Packie got him once we escape." The other Zeon soldier joked as he entered the shuttle.
"This is no time to sight see General." One of the Revil's Zeon escorts spoke up. The General quickly looked back at the Zeon soldier after being snapped out of his trance. He quickly dashed away from the Zaku and entered the shuttle as the soldier continued hanging out the side looking for any kind of guards "We got the old man on board. Move to phase 2."

"Already planting the explosives." Patrick floated toward one Zaku and placed a plastic explosive in one of the joints of the leg. When the escape was made it was deemed necessary by the three defectors to sabotage any Zeon mobile suit in the hanger at the time. If they were compromised, the explosions would damage the Zakus and hamper the ability of Zeon space forces from capturing the escaped fugitives. "Give me a few more minutes....Shit!" The sound of a door sliding open startled Patrick as he dropped what he was doing and picked up his rifle. He quickly took aim at the door.

Tunnel vision quickly set in as he stared down the sights of his AKS. Panzergenadiers shuffled through the door with their weapons aimed at Patrick. At the very rear of the line Patrick could see a SS officer in a space suit drifting behind the SS soldiers as they filed in, but he couldn't quite make out the face yet.
"I'm being compromised wait for the explosions first before leaving." Patrick quietly whispered into the microphone of his headset.
***
"Just great." One of the Zeon soldiers said with his voice laced in dread. He quickly floated past Revil. "You may want to buckle up. Things are going to get rough."
"Nothing ever goes according to plan." Revil sighed as he followed closely behind.
***
The red eyes of the Panzergrenadiers all stared at Patrick. All of his movements were watched carefully through the sights of their own weapons. Patrick looked on at the black uniformed soldiers as he sweated uncontrollably. The sound of clapping broke the silence as one final person in a black SS space suit entered the hanger. A lone SS officer entered behind the Panzergrenadiers. At first Patrick was unsure who it was, but as the SS officer came closer out into the hanger out into the light he was positive who it was.
"You almost got away with it." Simon said in a cheerful voice. Besides his lack of humanity, his thick German accent always seemed to infuriate Patrick most of all. He wasn't sure why it bothered him but it just added to the long list of reasons he couldn't stand Wolfgang.
"Evening Simon. Do you always wear a shit eating grin when you do something right?" Patrick continued staring down the iron sights of his AKS-74U. He would swiftly turn his sights from one Panzergrenadier to another in quick fluid motions. He scanned the room looking for any sign of nervousness on the part of the SS soldiers. No such luck was to be found.
"Even when you are facing certain death you still show your arrogance when you have been caught red handed betraying the fuehrer." Simon frowned as he withdrew his pistol from his holster. Patrick quickly turned his sights on the angry SS officer. Both men butted heads during a propaganda event that was thrown by Dozle Zabi after the One Week Battle. Ever sine then neither man had trusted one another. Now it seemed their underlying hateful feeling boiled to the surface and only worsen as both men pointed at guns at one another.
"After discovering that Revil was missing from his cell I immediately thought of you. You always seem to have had a problem with the homeland after we first met. You were such a loyal soldier at one point in time." Patrick's eyes continued to race. His eyes would quickly switch from his iron sights to other areas around the room.
"Where did I put that bloody bag?" Patrick pondered to himself as Simon continued to ramble. He begin to panic more as Simon walked forward now in front of the Panzergrenadiers.
"Where did it all go wrong for you Foley? Hmmm." Simon raised his eyebrows intrigued by how Patrick could possibly answer him. Patrick slowly backed away as Simon continued inching forward at a steady pace. Both men had their sights locked in place on one another waiting for the other to make a nervous twitch. The Panzergrenadiers moved to the opposite flank of Simon as he moved closer to Patrick. Patrick's eyes shifted quickly to follow the movements of the the all black SS troopers. He only followed their red lenses as they maneuvered around. His eyes quickly darted back to Simon and then at a corner where a Zaku II C stood. At the foot of the mobile suit he could see the black strap of his back pack sticking out past the toe of the Zeon mobile suit.
***
"They are coming." One of the men nervously tapped his feet as the Panzergrenadiers moved closer to the ship. Their red eyes zeroed in on the shuttle as they closed in. The platoon leader looked back at his subordinates and had them move toward the shuttle from a different direction.
"No shit dummy!" The pilot snapped as he checked the oil pressure and other vital gauges. Revil rolled his eyes.
"These idiots are going to get me killed."
***
"Wait for the charges to go off." Patrick whispered. Simon paused and stared directly at Patrick as the former Zeon stared back at him. "Fire in the hole." Patrick smirked as he pulled a detonator from his pouch and decompressed the spring loaded lever around the metal housing. A set of beeping noises begin chirping like birds. The SS officer looked on in horror as he tried to turn and scream back to his fellow SS men to take cover, but it was too late.

A bright flash blinded Patrick as he was flung backwards away from the explosion. He smashed up against the wall and let out a painful grunt as he slid down to the floor face down and on to his knees. He laid down on his side and crawled away. Smoke filled the hanger causing visibility to decrease significantly. Patrick took deep breaths as the screams of SS Panzergrenadiers filled the room faster than the smoke could.
"That didn't work exactly the way I thought it would." Patrick joked as he rose to his feet. He stumbled forward up against the leg of a Zaku I. Patrick looked up at the outdated MS-05 model. It appeared to be one of the refitted B types. "Well hello there." Patrick smirked as he pushed off the ground and floated up to the cockpit of the Zaku I. The British soldier looked back as he reached the cockpit door of the Zaku. Smoke still continued filling the room. In some parts of the hanger visibility was moderate at best. Panzergrenadiers stumbled about after having their hearing shot by the explosion. Some of them struggled to maintain their balance in mid flight with their unweilding MG3 machineguns.
"Kill that son of a bitch!" Patrick rolled his eyes as Simon yelled in his thick German accent. Patrick opened the cockpit door to the Zaku I and climbed as small arms fire erupted around the Zaku I.
"That man doesn't know when to give up." Patrick muttered under the loud audible pings against the thick armor of the Zaku I. He pressed a series of buttons and the mobile suit begin its start up mode quickly. The monitor flared to life in front of Patrick as some of the few Panzergrenadiers opened fire with their machineguns. Constant pings could be heard inside the cockpit as the pink monoeye swiveled to the center of the Zaku's face. Some of the Panzergrenadiers continued firing with their machineguns as the Zaku stepped forward and turned toward the wall.
"Run you idiots!" Simon barked at the Panzergrenadiers as the Zaku I armed itself with a 105mm machinegun from the wall rack.
***
"Launch the shuttle while they are distracted damn it!" Revil ordered as the Zaku I took aim with its machinegun. The pilot gave a thumbs up as the engines to the shuttle started up and begin humming to life. Large jets of blue flames erupted out of the rocket engines as it scorched everything in its direct line of fire. One Panzergreandier floated helplessly around in the hanger after being caught on fire by the engines His arms flailed about wildly trying to put the fire out in vein Soon he stopped moving and it became more apparent why.
***
Patrick begin changing through comm channels as the Zaku I walked forward searching for anything of value to shoot. The target reticle to the 105mm gun came on screen. The reticle traveled up to the far wall of the hanger where machinegun tracers continued to be fired at a the Zeon mobile suit. The Panzergrenadiers stood in defiance of the large titan as they continued firing, some had ran out of ammo in their long guns and switched over to their pistol to continue the fight.
"They don't teach these ass kissers of Gihren's when to give up?" Patrick sighed as fired fired a three round burst of machinegun fire at the SS troopers. The large bullets smashed into the wall and ground around the Panzergrenadiers peppering some of them with hazardous shrapnel that flew around the surrounding area. Others were incinerated by the high velocity projectiles from the Zaku I.
"Packie do you copy!?" His comrade's voice came in over the comm link. The Zaku's eye swiveled over to its left and stared at the the unharmed Zaku II C's standing at the far wall. The smoke had begin to thin. He couldn't make out distinctive features, but he could see the silhouettes of the Zakus. The torso of his mobile suit turned to the far wall like a tank turret as it took aim once more with its machinegun and opened fire in full automatic bursts.
"I read you mate. Just meet up with me at the spot we had arranged, I'll catch up with you later." The 105mm rounds slammed in the Zaku II's in various spots. Some of the mobile suits buckled under their own weight as the 105mm rounds hit the legs of the Zakus. Even then Patrick took no chances and fired three round bursts into the downed mobile suits to insure none of them could be used any further for the war effort. He wanted to grind the Zeon "War of Independence" to a halt as best he could. The casualties they were willing to inflict on innocent lives in the name of freedom was too much for Patrick to tolerate. The Zaku I pulled the trigger one more time, but nothing happened A loud audible click could be heard signaling that his ammunition had been spent. The Zaku I hit the magazine release on the machinegun dropping the spent feeding device to the floor of the hanger as it quickly replaced it with a fresh drum.
"Foley!" A loud shout came in over the comm link. One of the Zaku II C's came to life behind him. Its monoeye glowed a bright pink as it lunged forward with a heat hawk in hand. The mobile suit made a brutish downward swing attempting to burry its super heated blade into the chest of Patrick's mobile suit. The much older Zaku I side stepped its counterpart and smashed it in the side of head with the butt of the machinegun. The Zaku II stumbled away into the smoke. Simon's growl came in over the comm link as the Zaku II C stopped its forward motion. Through the smoke only the brightly lit eye could be seen as the newer mobile suit regained its balance and stood strait up and charged back to the Zaku I. "You never gave me an answer." Simon swung wildly at the Zaku I as his suit emerged from the smoke. Patrick forced the much older mobile suit to dodge every attack using ducking and side stepping motions to his advantage against his inexperienced opponent.
"I have a conscious." Patrick blocked a overhand strike from the heat hawk with his rifle. Both mobile suits strained under each others pressure as they tried to kill one another. The individual gears and motors screamed out in agony as both combatants strained.
"What the hell is that suppose to mean?" Simon ignited his thrusters to full burn pushing Patrick backwards. The feet of the Zaku I slid across the hanger floor as both mobile suits continued to stay locked in combat. The Zaku I quickly side stepped away from the Zaku II using the attacking mobile suit's own weight and momentum against it. The all green mobile suit flew into the wall head first. Its monoeye dimmed from the sudden shock.
"Someone like you would never understand." Patrick pulled the heat hawk from the melted receiver of the 105mm rifle. The much older Zaku's eye examined the damage of the machinegun and slung it away once it was determined it was damaged beyond any use. "Someone who wouldn't know what honor is." The Zaku I turned the blade of heat hawk toward the badly damaged Zaku II.
"Fuck you, you undesirable!" Simon blurted out as his Zaku II was lifted off of the ground. Simon looked on in fear as the monoeye sensor of Patrick's Zaku stared at him through his monitor. The Zaku I raised the heat hawk high above its head as if it was in a old Hollywood slasher film. Simon closed his eyes and screamed in terror as the blade of heat hawk cut through the armor of his Zaku. The blade melted through the armor and into the wall behind the Zaku II C. The heated blade's familiar humming noise slowly faded away and only the sound of Patrick's Zaku walking away from Simon could be heard. "What?" Simon opened his eyes and watched his enemy walk away from him in combat.
"You haven't earned a death by my hands yet." Simon looked over at the heat hawk. Its blade had been lodged deep into the shoulder of the mobile suit so far that the blade had actually burned into the wall of hanger. The Zaku II reached with its arm and grabbed the handle of the axe and tried to pull it from its body, but it was too impossible of a feat. The arm of the Zaku II had been damaged during its charge and it was unable to free itself.
"Don't turn your back on me Foley! Don't run from me." Simon shouted as his Zaku II reached with its free arm after the Zaku I.
