Looking through a mirror, Bryce examined himself as he adjusted the cuffs around his wrists. The Earth Federation uniform had yet to grow on him as he was accustomed to his old Zeon uniform. To say the least though, he did not miss being amongst the ranks of Zeon.
Over the past three days, Bryce had been contained in one of the holding cells aboard what was General Revil's Big Tray. Officers and other interrogators visited his "room" and drilled him with the similar questions to see if the responses were swayed at all. After numerous confirmations that the information Bryce handed over was in fact reliable, the OK was given to release him from confinement. He was welcomed into the roster of the Earth Federation's Ground Forces. They issued him a GM Land Combat Type, a well-suited machine for the terrestrial theater.
Leaving his temporary bunk, Bryce headed towards the hangar aboard the Big Tray to inspect his new mobile weapon. A few of the Federation soldiers aboard threw him looks of doubt and caution. What would one expect from someone who just defected from the enemy force? Their wary gaze aside, Bryce entered the hangar to conveniently see his suit racked up opposite to where he stood. Wandering over towards the mechanics that were preparing his machine, Bryce welcomed them with a smile as he climbed on into it's cockpit.
He eased on into the machine, its seat much different than what he was used to inside of the Hildolfr. He entered a few commands into the computer as it brought up an on-screen display of the GM Land Combat Type's specs and armaments. The contingent of what it provided Bryce was just enough to cover all aspects of combat. It's beam spray gun would be an effective tool against the heavy armors that filled Zeon's ranks. Even the railcannon caught his eye as he could still effectively fire from a long range if need be.
While he needed to read up on the suit and it's capabilities, Bryce's main purpose of investigating was to read up on the beam saber. Seeing how the Earth Federation produced such a weapon would indeed be interesting. Compared to a heat hawk, the beam saber seemed to grant many pilot's more courage when charging their enemies. He could see why too, it was comparably using a beam gun that would pretty much negate whatever armor the enemy mobile weapon had. He would have to practice using this new weapon to take full advantage of it's capabilities.
Closing out the data on-screen, Bryce walked back outside of his suit and turned to look up at it. Mechanics were loading rounds into the head for the 60mm vulcans. Some pilots never use them thinking they aren't big enough guns. Though, when used in conjunction with close-range fighting, they can be very effective. Not having to holster the weapon, you can surprise the enemy by firing the vulcans close enough to be effective.
He left the hangar and headed back towards his temporary bunk. The GM LCT will be his weapon to help protect Arianna. It will do its job for now. Being a traitor to Zeon, however, meant that Bryce had left many on that side of the war bitter and angered; having that many opponents looking to take his head did complicate things. The Land Combat Type might not be powerful enough to defend himself, or Arianna from them, though he would do his best though to push the limits of his mobile suit's capabilities. Perhaps he could dig around through Federation files to find out more about that mobile suit with the twin beam spear. Maybe he'd be able to convince his superiors that he'd be worthy of piloting such a suit in time. Odessa should be a good opportunity to show that his skill needs to be complimented by that mobile suit. He just needed a little more time before everything would be perfect.
