The EF Preliminary Deployment has been posted and we have less than 24 hours before our own deployment is due. The Odessa Ground Rules and Odessa Orbit Rules can be found in their respective threads. Time to get crackin'. I doubt I can be too much help here beyond simple observations. For instance, Jukons have a missile range far in excess of the enemy's fleet assets. Our initial deployment of the subs should allow them to fire on the enemy fleet without risking significant counter-attack.

Ok, I need to take a break from this, with what I have available to work with (No comp, and print outs of maps) this is a headache =\ I posted some ideas for deployments, I know they will need to be tweaked, and I didn't get around to all the suit units, if y'all could throw ideas around it would be appreciated, or if Ketara (Garma) could lend some advice it would be a big help. *sigh* ***Edit*** Also, some ideas or suggestions
- Ryer and Heavy Fork are at top left corner of map. I think we should not necessarily overload top side to deal with them, but a solid Dobday with some quick strike units supporting it up there to try and take them out would be a good idea.
- We have 3 Ground MA's and 2 Underwater MAs, we need to utilize these well. Already have plans for the Grabros, the Apsalus and Adzams need to be planned for. Chan suggested maybe getting Aspalus some support and sending it at Revil. Maybe an Adzam at the other two ends of the map with flight support?
- I am thinking we also need to deal with Everst and hillock that have isolated themselves from the group. I am tempted to put Hans on that Hillock and sending the U-18 with its Panzers and possibly Gray around Penisula to deal with those. Dunno if we want to divide navy like that or not.
- Recon Gaw: We need to figure out best way to prolong its existence in this battle. Could go with Jim's old trick, and outfit a gaw with cosmetic changes to look like the Recon... or All of them to look like that. something to be thought on.
- Again, we need to remember that Marina can use optional missiles, how useful is it to start first turn off with littering air space above the Federation navy with M Particle missiles then diving? just a though.
- I know there's a lot more to be touched on, but getting a little overwhelmed, will get back on this later.

Musings Part 1
So, for Gray's amusement, and to document the thoughts, I will post ideas and what I feel is necessary action for naval deployments... will get around to rest later tonight/tomorrow >.>
Ships M8 - Lvl6I Jukon II (Marina) U-77 Lorelay L10 - Lvl3 Jukon U-18 L9 - Lvl2 Jukon U-101 M9 - Lvl1 Jukon U-53
PCs M8 - Xavier - 113vp z'gok, 1x lvl3 z'gok, 2x lvl3 Acguy L9 - Esther - 88vp z'gok S, 3x lvl2 Goggs Off Map - Gil - 93vp Grabro, 2x lvl4 z'goks, 1x lvl5N Grabro
Units K10 - 4x lvl2 Goggs L10 - 3x lvl2 Goggs, 1x lvl5 z'gok
Basic ideas are.
Gil Krundle (Kale) comes in on turn 1 at approximately O9. I will have him move to M9 and hold position. All units and PCs in water will hold position as well. All four Jukons will bombard Federation fleet, starting with Marina firing a volley of MIRV missiles, followed by the other three spamming their HE missiles in their wake. Target will be either span of Hillocks or the Andes and Lhotse.
We are anticipating them to be advancing at least 2 squares to make more efficient use of their air craft against our base and units.
So, if they advance on turn 2, we engage them with the first strike force, consisting of Kale's team and Esther's team with support of U-18 at their rear. If Strike Team hits them on turn two, it will hopefully coincide with Hans detonating a bomb, blowing the Alps apart, and causing a distraction, allowing the MSM to get in on top of the ships. They will be covered by bombardment from remaining three Jukons.
Turn 3, assuming the naval battle has commenced, Xavier and the squad containing the lvl5 z'gok will advance, with U-101, to either, join engagement and look to finish it off, or cover the retreat of the Strike Team.
*actual engagement details will be flushed out, such as Hans's role, and attempt to place z'goks on decks of Himalayas.
Marina will either move up coast, or stay at port to cover us, act as emergency back up.
I have a few ideas brewing about rest of it and here they are a little less organized.
Recon Gaw thoughts Cosmetically make three gaws resemble Recon Gaw, and have them rotate in circle pattern over city, L7, K8, J7, K6. The Recon Gaw has an effective AoE spanning 7x7. 4 squares away. this rotation will effectively render any units that make it into the base's area blind in a sense, and keep it hard for them to target correct Gaw. It also places them with in the AA guns, and center is the Airfield, so it can have Dopp support.
North. clusterfuck, need to think on it more.
Everest. We have an ass of shit sitting on k9 that can target that, and or Medeas to south, as well as the howitzers on the south side.
White Base. I hope Persephone and provided support is enough, we'll see.
Ummm, head is spinning, lol XD
