The two ensigns were quietly cleaning and waxing the floor, giving an absurd amount of effort into waxing it, to the point it was almost like an art form. Each started out on one corner of the room and worked around the sides until finally, they encountered each other in the middle. They bumped, they yelled, they apologize, they forgave each other, only to realize they're trapped in the center. They yelled, fought, punched, yelled again, then finally apologized once again. Without anything else to do, they've slumped onto the floor, their backs against each other until the floors are dried. After minutes of silence, one of them spoke.
"Name's Kenneth. Yours?"
"You can call me Xander for now."
"So, Xander, how's life been treating you so far?"
The other man looked annoyed at all the questions, but he answered anyway. "Can't complain. Decent pay."
"That's good to hear." Another moment of silence passed before the man known as Kenneth spoke again. "So Xander, got anyone special in your life?"
Now, the man known as Xander looked a bit surprised at the question but like before, he answered back. "No, not really. I guess I haven't really given much thought about that yet."
"Not interested or just haven't found the right person yet?"
"The latter I supposed."
Another moment of silence. "What about the captain?"
"What?!" Xander sputtered out. "I'm not that desperate yet."
"What? Haven't you heard? She's not crazy anymore, or at least not as much. I mean, she's quite the looker but insane, but now that's she's less insane, she's quite the catch."
"That sounds awfully alot like someone from that show I've watched."
"Oh, I think I know who you mean. Is it that martial artist from that show..., oh what's her name... Oh, that's right. Mistress Eurasia from Hyper Temporal Super Robot Gespenst, the re-imagining of the the deconstructed real robot show. Does the captain remind you of her?"
"What? No, that's not even the right show."
"Then what show are you talking about?"
"You know, the one with the young male hero, who suddenly had his life turned upside down from an attack by the enemy. The one where the hero has to bring out his true potential and must rely on a certain piece of technology so he can save the world. Along the way, he learns everything he can from his mentor but ultimately relies on himself. He gains several allies, some of whom he becomes close friends with. While he meets someone who becomes his love interest, it doesn't really go anyway and doesn't end up together. There are several sequels and a lackluster prequel that doesn't really have anything to do with the main series other than the name. But, in the end, the protagonist and the antagonist finally fight with one another, but ultimately work together at the last moment to thwart an even bigger enemy than them."
"Oh.., wait, I think I know this."
"Oh, do you, that's good to hear."
Yet another moment of silence pass before Kenneth spoke again. "You were talking about Star Trek, right?"
"What? No, I was talking about Star Wars."
"Oh, right. You can't possibly be talking about anything else but Star Wars."
"Yep, definitely not implying anything else but Star Wars."
"Yep..."
Suddenly, the giant mecha Devilbane Emperor Z burst through the walls and challenge the two to a rock off. Kenneth and Xander summoned their own giant mecha and combined into the galaxy sized mecha, GaoCross-Kaizer Machina. Powered by the mysterious G-Spiral Energy Rays, they had a massive rock-out and made the universe listen to their songs. It was so awesome, the universe imploded.
The End.

There was barely a sound in the room as the credits rolled, when the sharp sound of someone clapping broke the deathly silence. However, when it was clear that no one else was clapping, it uncomfortably died away as well. Apparently, two claps too much for the film. The deafening silence was starting to take its toll on the audience as no one dare to move or make any noise. What felt like an eternity was merely thirty seconds of real time. Only then did someone finally say something.
"Well..., that was crap."
Like a worn out floodgate holding back the raging floodwater, the words came bursting out, leaving no survivors.
"No..., that wasn't crap, that would be an insult to crap everywhere."
"My god, I think that was even worse than 'Plan Pi From Outer Space.'"
"Hell, that was so crappy, that, that..."
"Allow me to complete that statement for you. It was so crappy, that after the sixth day, God decided to create crap instead of rest, and said 'This is crap' and decided to destroy it by setting all the crap on fire, but it instead melt the giant glacier of crap in the poles that flooded the ocean of crap with more crap, which split over onto the land filled with crap, and into the city of crap, where the humans lived, which had also built crap, and soon, the crap water got into all the nuclear reactors and had a nuclear crap meltdown, which caused the world-wide fallout of nuclear crap, and the earth, filled with radioactive crap, started shifting around and spew volcanic crap from its core, covering the atmosphere with clouds of crap, and altered the earth's orbit and crashed into the sun, which is made entirely of crap. That is only a fraction of how crappy this movie was."
The room stopped for a moment to considered that statement before someone answered. "Wow, that is crappy."
"Yeah, but not as crappy as G-avior."
"True, true. Wait, shouldn't there be an S in that name somewhere."
"What? Oh, that's probably a typo, it's not as if I intentionally left it off on purpose for trademark purposes or for some ridiculous pun on the name."
"Meh..., but you know, I've always wonder what does the G stands for anyway?"
"Oh, it stands for Gu..., hey, when did you sneak all the way over there, Mao?"
Mao looked innocently at Izzy as he asked her that. "Oh, nothing really. I just saw the captain doing something amazing and wanted to sneak over to her seat and teased her a bit." She pouted a little, "But she somehow got up and left before I got close."
Isaac eyed Mao suspicious as he asked, "What did you see the captain do?"
She smiled wryly, "That's for me to know and you to find out later."
As thus, the argument continued at the ship's monthly 'So bad, it's terrible' movie marathon.

"There better be a good reason why you're here instead with the others, like you're supposed to." Gwen didn't even have to turn around to know it was Roslyn that opened the door. "And if you say headache, I will launch you out of an airlock."
Roslyn hesitated for a moment before entering. "I rather not talk about it, so if you consider me a friend, and your captain. Just drop it." She moved over to an empty seat, picked up one of several cups scattered all over the table, but gave up trying to make herself a cup of coffee when she realizes the dark liquid in the coffee pot was water. Instead, she just grabbed a sugar cube, or at least she hopes it's a sugar cube, from a tray next to the coffee pot and chewed on it.
After a moment of pretending to do work, Gwen gave up and asked, "Alright, fine, I'll bite. What's wrong?"
The sound of someone attempting to chew filled the room. A huge spit later, Roslyn finally replied, "For the first time in a long, long time, I smiled... I was actually enjoying myself. And when I realize that I was smiling, I got scared and had to leave the room. Does..."
Gwen held up her hand and interrupted her. "You can cut the bullshit now. People change, but this is complete crap and you know it. So, why are you really here?"
A sigh reverberated throughout the room. "I wasn't lying when I said I got scared... I was there, watching that horrible movie, except I didn't think it was that bad. I actually did enjoy it, and did smile, but then it blindsided me."
"Don't expect me to say 'what' like I'm supposed to. Just get to the point."
"Couldn't you at least play along?" When the other woman didn't reply, Roslyn continued. "Fine, you want it short and simple. I felt Mao." She waited a moment, but like before, no response. "Aren't you going to..."
"No."
For a brief moment, Roslyn looked hurt, but it passed. "Of course you knew what I meant, you're the one that forced it..."
"Please..., stop."
Roslyn turned her head and looked at the doctor curiously. "Stop what?"
Gwen sighed and waved her hand toward where Roslyn is sitting. "This... You're trying too hard." Before Roslyn could open her mouth, Gwen continued, "Survivor's guilt. You're feeling guilty because you felt happy for the briefest of moment. Now you're trying hard to cover up that guilt."
"But I'm not..."
"SHUT UP!" Gwen snapped out. "The more excuses you make for yourself, the more pissed I'll be. So for both of our sake, just shut up." Roslyn tensed up at the sudden accusation, but before she can let her anger simmer, Gwen attacked again. "Don't bother denying it, the fact that you felt Mao with your mind is very damning evidence against you." Gwen softened her tone, "Look, I've said this before, your emotion plays a big part in your powers. At your current level, the only way you can read other people's mind is purely by accident or when you're emotional. So, I'm telling this once, get out of this room and come back only when you've dealt with all the crap in your life."
"But, I, you..." Roslyn stumbled on her words while her face grows redder and redder. "Fine, you insensitive bitch, I'll just somehow magically deal with the crap that everyone I once knew, died and abandoned the only other person that didn't. Go to hell!" She angrily got up and started to leave the room. Just before she got to the door, she heard Gwen call out to her.
"Hey Roslyn."
"What?!" She screamed out.
Without any malice in her voice, Gwen simply said, "You're allowed to be happy. Now get out."

Roslyn was alone again, and she was scared. It has been far too long since she heard herself think and she didn't know what to say to herself. But that comes later, the first thing she must do is turn on the ligh...
-click-
The room burst into flames as Roslyn reached for her knife, only to realize the only thing left of her hands is her skeleton. She screamed while the room was burning down around her. And then she was falling. Into an endless abyss of darkness, she fell, screaming and clutching the skeletal remains of her hand. But despite how loud she was screaming, the sound of -click- -click- -click- echoed around her even louder. She turned her head around and saw that she didn't fall into an abyss of darkness, it was into a giant mouth of teeth, endlessly spiraling around her, grinding against each other as they close in on her. There was nothing she could do as the teeth bit down hard and gnawed away her legs. With a sickening crack, she impacted against the floor and felt her arms and legs break in half. She cried out and tried to crawl along the floor, desperately searching for a way out. She saw a flicker of light and somehow dragged her half-mangled body toward it. Just before she can reach it, she heard the sound of a gun being cocked. She looked up, right into the barrel of a gun, held by none other than herself. She only managed to give out a gasp of shock before a loud boom reverberated the room and light flooded the room. What felt like an eternity, the light slowly died away, and in its stead, was the familiar room of the ship's bridge. Before she could give a sigh of relief that everything was back to normal, the door exploded and Roslyn knew what was going to happen next.
The scene unfolded before her while she slumped to the floor and held her hands to her head, crying. Unable to stop it then, she was helpless to stop it now. And when it was all over, the corpse of her beloved captain laid next to her, staring at her with his dead eyes. Barely above a whisper, she only managed to sob out, 'I'm sorry.' Then, as if nothing it never existed, the bridge disappeared and Roslyn was alone in an empty room. Except she wasn't alone. She knew who was behind her and started to run toward the door. Just as she was about to open it and run out, she stopped. "Guess it's about time I stopped running, eh, John." She turned around and corrected herself, "I meant, Captain John Cassidy." She and her former captain looked at each other.
He smiled at her. "What took you so long?"
She smiled back. "Sorry, there was something I needed to clear up before I could talk to you." Before any of them could say another word, they gave each other a long overdue hug. "You're not real, are you?"
"Of course not. I died back on the Workhorse. But you know me, even figments of imaginations of myself can't give my crew any peace of mind."
She laughs lightly, as they removed themselves from each other. She soon stopped and looked sadly at him. "I'm so-"
"Don't. I lived my life without any regrets and without the need to hear anyone say those words to me. I don't need to hear it after I'm dead."
"But-"
"Look, I don't have much time, considering I'm only your imagination and you're going to wake up soon. But know this, what happened is not your fault and there's no need to blame yourself. And since I'm not here to watch over you guys anymore, you'll have to do it for me." He slowly starts to fade away despite Roslyn's best effort to keep him there. "Do me a favor, make sure you find her and take good care of her." She nods. "Good." And once again, he hugged her. "It was good to see you again." She cried into his shoulder, as she hugged him back. She felt him pull her away as he wiped away the tears away from her eyes. "And smile, you're allowed to happy."
And then she woke up.
~
Roslyn was sitting down, clasping the cup of coffee in her hands. She glared at Gwen sitting across her, sipping away at her own cup. There were many things she wanted to say to her, but she said the first thing that came to her mind.
"You drugged me."
"Correction, I gave you a prescription to help you deal with your post traumatic stress disorder."
"You. Drugged. Me."
Gwen finishes what's left in her cup and placed it on the table next to her. "Had to. You were getting delirious while crying about 'not allowed to be happy' in your room. Think of it as a apology for being so cruel to you before."
Roslyn replied to her with a murderous glare. Gwen shrugged as she got up and started to leave the room. Before she stepped out, Roslyn called out. "Thank you."
"Don't thank me yet." She raised her right hand to waved her good-bye as she resumed her exit. "I was worried that my hypnotherapy didn't work as intended, so I also drugged that cup of coffee you're drinking as well." She got out just before the cup shattered against the wall next to her.
