'What was that sound?'
I...I. don’t know…
'And that flash of light…?'
You know what that was…
It happened all too quickly, so quickly, she couldn’t react in enough time to do what she wanted. That had been the story of her life recently, never fast enough to react in the manner she would like. This would be the second time that she would be close enough to Bryce to touch him and yet wouldn’t get the chance to. Again, she was the marionette and circumstance, so it would seem, was manipulating the strings. Not Sahra. Not her father or even anything her mother had set into motion.

She remembered this feeling; it was when he was working for Zeon in the Hildolfr and the first time they met on the battlefield. This time was different, she could reach him and he wasn’t on the opposite end of the line of fire. He was now Earth Federation and she didn’t have to wonder his condition, she would find out for herself. Slowly and gingerly, she maneuvered her GM S to Bryce’s LCT and began to pry the cockpit door. “He is alive, I just know it.” She repeated to herself, knowing that he’d be fine. That was just Bryce’s way, even if he found himself in such danger; he’d manage a way out. He always has and she had come to depend on that trait.

Her eyes flew open, large green orbs glancing about wildly as she regained her sense of bearing. 'Was... I just dreaming?' She thought to herself; the voice of her mother replying clear to her. 'Perhaps, dear.' Her body was sore from the blast but what bothered her even more was the odd sensation. An odd, but strangely familiar sensation, it was déjà vu.
She called his name.
No response.
Her heartbeat quickened, her breathing grew frenetic, as well as her thoughts. “He has to respond…” She would mutter out loud, quickly standing her GM S upright and moving closer to investigate. “He has to respond, we’ve come too close…” They had come too close now, through promises, separation and now a hopeful end to the war; she refused to let it end here.
“Damnit now, Bryce Hollerfelt! You answer me!” She declared, focus and determination emanating from her in a way that had occurred only once before…
