Hey everyone,

As usual, the general business for the first day of Week 19 is purchases and sending your RP to me. Originally, I was going to buy a Zanzibar Kai for Ravage but due to our sudden change of income, we’re going to restock instead.

Our next probable battle is against the EFSF Bollocks Fleet. To confront this, we are purchasing 13x Rick Doms and 3x Jiccos for the occasion. A breakdown of our two forces is below:

The first thing I see is that their PCs are slightly higher in VP than us. There are more of us however and our machines are better for the most part. I find it kinda funny; this is the exact opposite of the situation in the canon version of OYW.

I expect Bollocks to confront us on Day 3 of Week 19 the earliest. They could be going to EO to pick up Jack Murphy but we won’t know until they actually move there.

There has been some really good planning for the battle on the Week 18 thread and I’ll summarize it here once my internet stops being a pain.

Right, I already endorse Kuriboh's idea of letting the Schnee Weiss bits free float and idle until the Bollocks Fleet moves past them.

The ZEF will power down and wait in ambush in the debris field or Shoal Zone of the fleets destroyed at the +2DE line (Blex, Wyatt, Bomer, and all other destroyed fleets). Meanwhile, the ZMF 2nd Resupply Fleet will use Dummy Balloons to make it seem as it joined up with the ZEF. Minovsky Particles will be scattered at maximum density to maintain the ZMF 2nd's illusion and to firmly hide the ZEF in the debris field.

The ZMF 2nd will open a long range bombardment on the Bollocks Fleet from maximum range. Having gotten the Bollocks Fleet's attention, the ZMF 2nd will then fallback into the debris field, as if trying to escape the EFSF ships. The mobile suits of the ZMF 2nd will stay close to the ships to provide anti-air support against missiles and saberfish. One of their goals to ensure that that the dummy balloons survive until the trap is sprung.

The ZMF 2nd will try to lure the Bollocks Fleet as close as possible to the debris field, committing the Federal ships completely into the battle. Then, from an unanticipated flank, the ZEF will launch its attack.

IF, and this is a big if, the Bollocks Fleet still has no infantry on any of its ships, then the Panzergrenadiers of the Veiled Intent, an assault shuttle of Marines, the Marines of the Zeon ships, and a Guerrilla Contact will lurk in the debris field. As the trap springs, they will rush out of hiding across the short distance to the Federal ships, taking them by storm.

I will talk to Malak Lavareich about getting a Guerrilla Contact and Terrorist Contact for this mission. I am currently giving him a Rick Dom II and a Salamis Kai for this mission would be a worthy payment indeed.

After some thought, I realize that the new Federal ships at Texas Colony are dummy balloons.

Before last night's update, Blackmage had 1,727 RP. He now has 1,657 RP. That's only a 70 RP difference. A Salamis Revised costs 640+450 = 1,090 RP a piece. A balloon costs about 209 RP apiece so 418 RP.

There's been some partial RP transfers.

Alex Sentara still has 100 RP left despite a salary of at least 325. So let's call that 225 RP. Derek Carter's and Issa's RP went to someone. So that's about 575 RP total of transfers. Cassandra and Nacho probably used their RPs to buy support services and those dummy balloon of The Factory to protect themselves against us ambushing them when they spawned.

So ~575 RP vs 418 + 70 RP difference. Throw in the 10x Balls for 30 RP total and the numbers somewhat line up.

So now they have three dummy balloons (two Salamis Revised and a Fuji). What could they possibly be doing with them? Sacrificing them against the blockade fleets? There are three of them currently: Helsing, Solomon, and Delaz. But the only reason why they would go that far is to reach the new Port Royal asteroid mine that Cid set up.

On that note, I think he's using the Port Royal asteroid mine as a temporary base. Most likely to refit his ships for interplanetary travel.

Anyway, Bollocks can also create a dummy fleet with those three balloons. But how would that play into their plans?

My guess is that they're trying to trick us into thinking they're making another run at our remaining mines, hoping that we divert resources away from buying MS and ship and into defenses that won't come into play.

As for the plan itself, I think it looks good, though I still have some misgivings about the capture aspect. Not sure about the powering down aspect either. If we really want to capture some ships, we should just get two of the Salamis Kais and get rid of the rest, starting with the Magellan since it has the most firepower, and most of our recent ship losses have been to Magellans.

Yeah. The more we put them in the hole financially, the longer it'll take them to get a fleet capable of putting up a challenge to our own will be, assuming we don't lose too many ships in the process.

Assuming we win, they'll likely flee to Texas, assuming none of them feel like trying to make it past Helsing. If we can corner them in Texas, we could try capturing one of their PCs, though really, I think we should probably just capture the colony and send it behind friendly lines.

Well, even without any details, it looks like we took out at least half of their ships with the rest in bad shape. Depending on our state post battle, we could either press the attack and do even more damage or retreat into Purgatorio. From the looks of it, we lost one, maybe two, ships.

I'm not sure how many of their MS we killed, but it looks like a slaughter. But our balloon tactic seemed to work rather well here. Once the rosters are updated, we'll know more.

Okay, that was a really good turnout. The EFSF lost three Salamis Kais, a Columbus and 3/4 of their MS force. They only have 9x GMs left while not counting the PCs.

We lost the Musai-class Valkyria, the Papua-class Long Haul, and we only have 17x MS left in the fleet while not counting PCs.

So at this point, I'm thinking of sending the Veiled Intent, Athena's Wrath, Lucifer's Fury, and the 2x Jiccos to Texas Colony. The Nyarlathotep, Jeanne D'Arc, and Freya's Anger can go to Purgatorio for repairs. That is, after we all link up on one big fleet and redistribute the MS a little better.

However, let's look at Bollock's options first. In hindsight, they clearly went to Overwatch on us but had the tables turned on them by Kuriboh's excellent strategy. BM has enough RP to Balloon his way out of +2DE. He can either go GreenNoah/Luna II or Texas Colony. Or he can hide in Ohm/Tianem Fleet. There's also a slight chance that they will try and suicide attack the ZEF or ZMF 2nd.

Thoughts?

Edit: The Hydra and Centaur arrived at +2DE. I know I said they should be balloons but those are two "Salamis Revised" ships. Should we attack them?

If he tries a kamikaze run, it'll potentially do a LOT of damage to our MS forces, PC or otherwise since we've all got a pile of Damage to work though. I can see him ducking behind one of the fleets for cover, however.
