Scene Two
The Duchy's Dobday-class heavy assault land battleship was one of the deadliest vessels to ever roll across the Earth's surface. Its double-barreled cannons could deliver an explosive payload farther and with more accuracy than nearly any other vessel out there. Lord Garma, however, commanded his forces from a Gaw. This simple fact meant that the Dobday would never be more than a stepping stone for 1st Lieutenant Evelyn Price; to be fair though everything was essentially a stepping zone for her eventual marriage to Lord Garma.
She was fanatical in her devotion that that young man. She enlisted when it was announced that he was being put in charge of the Terrestrial Assault Force, she wept when it was announced that he was to be married to a mere mayor's daughter, and she followed his every engagement with unnerving fascination. She was only an officer because of the increased access it gave her to information concerning him and, of course, the chance it gave her to eventually meet him. Every night she practiced what she would say to the youngest Zabi, and with every man that she brought to her bed, exactly what she would eventually do to him.
This all meant that her latest task really didn't interest her.
1st Lieutenant Evelyn Price was wearing her usual red officer's uniform along with a healthy amount of makeup to really accentuate her brown eyes and full-lips. Her hair was in its usual bun, and at her side, was the usual somewhat un-used sidearm. She walked leisurely through the crew quarters. When someone passed by, she flashed them a smile with her white teeth and a customary salute. If they were particularly noteworthy then she often added a little something extra which ranged from a simple wink to a quick touch. It was a nice diversion from the task at hand and it did nicely to spice things up.
She almost walked by her destination in absent-minded bliss but a fellow MAF officer (and potential rival) further down the hall brought her back to her senses. 1st Lieutenant Price, thus, straightened her back to make herself look even taller in her heeled shoes, put on a serious face, and knocked hard on 1st Lieutenant Tony Knight's door.
