Alright so I am pretty confident I am going to purchase a Gray Phantom and the lovely part about this is that is a large and pretty nice ship that we can all fly around in, yet it also does something quite wonderful for us, it allows us to RP together with an easy story line and background for all our RPs. This would allow us to all work together on our story lines and perhaps make a really good story. I am going to try to layout the different crew and stuff in a profile someplace so you can all follow along and bring them into your own RPs at will. I want a whole group of NPCs that everyone writes about and we can develop the entire story ourselves. Until we get all of it done, I am going to begin to list out characters for this ship, please contribute to them as you can, I am speaking to Thomas, Atra, and Thried specifically here!
Things to keep in mind, the ship is only going to hold 9 MS slots, and I would like each of them filled with a NPC, this gives 3 MS slots to each of you (Thomas, Atra, Threid) and I plan on having 2 MS Teams on board the ship. (If you guys want to change up how it is all organized and some people have less people directly in their MS team let me know.
Suggested Organization:
1st Mobile Suit Team: (Yet to be named) Leader - GM Command?(To Be Purchased)(Not Yet RPed by Anyone) MS - Blue Destiny (Thorvald) MS - GM Sniper (Aurem) MS - GM Land Combat Type (Arieta) Support Vehicle - Dodai II (Not Yet RPed by Thomas)
2nd Mobile Suit Team: (Beam Team) Leader - Guncannon HDT (Lieutenant Ptolemy Gerard) MS - Kyle Slater MS - ? MS - ?
Support Infantry: 1st Platoon - 1 x lvl 5 Marines (Kyle Webb) 2nd Platoon - 1 x lvl 3 Marines (Not Yet RPed)
The rest of the crew would be organized similarly and ranks assigned as needed. I would like to kind of frame the entire crew and craft as an "Experimental Special Forces Unit" and not have any of the same type of units in the entire group.

I think I am going to model the unit after this: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Korps_CommandotroepenMost notable stuff for the RPing factor would be that everyone would have green berets, etc. The timid name for the ship would be the "Roosendaal" but I am not 100% certain on that yet, I would like some suggestions if you have any.

My other suggested ship name would be "Oranje-Schip" which is dutch for Orange Ship. This would be named such because Nigel is the Prince of Orange.

I got the go ahead from Ketara to put a whole profile for the ship up on the roster pages, therefore I am going to probably put that up once we get it but I really want to get it all ready to post before we do so, so here is the start of the Profile Page:
Ship Name: MSC-06/LMSD-77 Roosendaal Ship Class: Pegasus Assault Carrier
Following Operation Odessa and the success of White Base, General Revil realized the importance of having a strong support cast around its high tech mobile suits, and quickly organized the creation of units similar to White Base. This resulted in the creation of units such as The Scarlet Team around the new Gundam Alex, with its Pegasus support craft, the Gray Phantom. The proven battle testing of the Blue Destiny unit piloted by Thorvald Siggurdson drew attention to the need of a support unit around the unit. As the Blue Destiny was already commanded by Nigel Ferdinand and the 42nd Brigade which was one of the most battle tested units to this point in the war, it made logical sense that the 42nd Brigade would be the next in line to receive the cousin ship of the Gray Phantom. This unit known as the MSC-06/LMSD-77 Roosendaal was built to keep with mobility still in mind, as the Zeon had seen the Blue Destiny in so many engagements under Thorvald that they thought the Federation was fielding several of the units. As the sixth unit produced in the Pegasus class of ship the Roosendaal was very similar to the Gray Phantom but was distinguished by a Black and Orange paint scheme.
Built under the code name "Operation Orange", the ship was the final piece for the re-creation of the Korps Commandotroepen (KCT), the Dutch special operations unit, that had been killed during the One Week War. Operation Orange received its name from the fact that the selection for the new KCT came under the command of the Dutch King, Nigel Ferdinand, who is known as the Prince of Orange.

I read the page for the Korps, and I think it's fine, as long as we LOOSELY RP based on it. Having similar uniforms might be the best we can do, since the level of comedy in the 42nd has always been high, and I don't think we'll be able to trade it for elite commando srs-ness.
And Feyd mentioned that our assault on Hughendon would benefit more from MSs than one large ship. Thoughts on this?

Well, I have enough for the Gray Phantom as is, and now way in hell I am removing the comedy aspect of the 42nd, was more for the uniform and colors. As for the more mobile suits, I would like to get a few higher level mobile suits for certain. Maybe that is our purchases next week?

I agree with all of the above, but would like to see more mention of why each member was selected to join the support unit. Maybe a second post or something below it that gives a little blurb about each member and links to profiles. The more we can make this a one stop shop for RP info on the 42nd with a web of links to other pages, the better RPing I think we'll get get out of our battles.
I also propose the berets either be black or orange, in keeping with our apparent new color scheme.
Finally, while I believe Feyd does have some good points, I don't think they outweigh the value of good RPing. I don't know about the rest of you, but I'm not playing this as purely a numbers game. I have said it time and time again that I would rather have a lot of well written losing battles with high character content than a lot of poorly written winning battles. This same concept extends to how I feel about the RP's I actually have control over too.

Sorry, I screwed up terribly yesterday, and my email to OYW didn't go through, so we didn't move. I will send the same action again today and sending it right now.

I propose we adopt the House of Orange's tartan as our regimental tartan: www.tartan-kilts.com/tartans/tk_0365.gif (presumably, this is relevant only to Thorvald). Also, I'm going to post an RP where Thorvald gets to know his Dodai pilot or something like that. I've had that thing long enough...

We need an RP about the entire ship being painted in the regimental tartan colors.

Wow, I hate that the Waterproof could not be a part of this.
Great job, Jojo.
