Ok guys we did well. We lost only a few mobile suits and a ship. We did get 1k rp so it was a decent trade off. However the ZEF had doubled back on us as I mentioned in the thread before. No big deal we were planning for this possibilty all along from the begining of Rinse and Repeat. We will go on overwatch Tuesaday and join the Ohm Fleet since it is the more modern and powerful of the 2e Federal Fleets.
We have one way of knowing a little of what the ZEF is planning but it would cost us rp. I spent some rp in the shop last week for a hacked service but nothing came up so no talk went down between the ZEF. Who wants to volunteer some of their rp for this? I'm thinking 5 to 10 words would be sufficient to have a clue of what is going down. All we really need to know is when and if they decide to attack us or if they plan to do anything on that day. If we can find out if they plan to go into side 5. If they break for Side 5 we could then break for Side 7 and get repaired and buy more ships and prepare for another phase of Rinse and Repeat.
Also post ideals on a overwatch strategy. It would be nice to hear them.

we could rotate overwatch days so that half our pcs are overwatching, and the other half are not, should help prevent fatigue from forming. I'd be willing to devote RP for 10 words.
Also ZEF may be waiting to see where we go from here to decide what they intend to do with Texas.

Just an idea you guys can fill in where the OYW tactics could help or hinder this plan. M Particle Fields give a larger advantage in Space than they do on Earth/Mars. Because of the localized nature of the fields, it is possible for a ship to create a field and still engage enemy before they enter it, so this advantage can apply to one side of a battle and not to another.
My idea comes from the last event, where Foley reminds Murphy that attacks can come from below. I'm not sure how often its written into a fleets attack plan about which angle they would be attacking from instead of just straight ahead or a left or right flank, but I'm pretty sure the writers kinda forget about it in the grand scheme of things.
So I figured we surround the ZEF with M Particles when they start there attack and drop out of there line of fire. Yeah I know its a space battle and ships will have turrets below but there won't be as much of a concentration, and at a different angle we get clearer shots while they fly blind. While we drop out of the initial fight Ohm should hold position not wanting to drift into the M Field while ZEF tries to move out. This should give us a chance to catch them in a cross fire and corner them forcing a retreat.
At the same time if they attacked from two different sides of the fleet we could engage the detachment after dropping out of an initial counter attack, while Ohm handles the larger part of there fleet.
There are a lot of if's still floating around but i think it could be work out with a few suggestions from the Veterans of the group.

I like the ideal of the m particle fields being formed by ship engines. We may have to incorperate that somehow in the plan.
As a note 2e Fleets can't be drawn into fights only if you are joining their fleet is when they will make an appearance. I imagine the battle will consist of us getting to Ohm then him making an appearance that will force the Zeeks to run off.

just a note, but Musais have no turrets on their underside. As such I suggest a strategy much like the one I suggested for Odessa Orbit. Position our ships so the majority of our cannons can hit them, and our ships are beneath the Musais, then as they are forced to rotate their ships and bring their cannons to bear, we move our ships with their rotation, staying in their cannons dead zone.

I think I may have an ideal of a strategy that will incorperate the best of both Naulex and Zero's ideals.
We'll start the fight off with the Melbourne and Richmond spreading M particle fields through their engines across the battlefield so we can flood the local area to jam sensors and communications. The Melbourne and Richmond will be acompanied with balloon Salamis ships. Since most of our fleet consists of Salamis Class ships they will think it is the entire fleet.
The basis of the strategy is to catch the ZEF being over agressive and throwing everything they have at the mostly balloon fleet. Meanwhile the rest of the fleet will stay out of sight until the zeeks have totaly commited a large portion of their forces into the battle. Once they have moved all forces into the fight the rest of the fleet(led by Aleksei) will attack with mobile suits and missiles from the ships. This counterattack is to start off with a M particle missile from Aleksei. That way when the barrage begins from the counterattack their communications count for shit.
Once enough damage has been done we will do a phased withdraw back to the Ohm Fleet for safety. We will use a artillery barrage service to cover the retreat and to inflict more Zeon losses.
Please note I will also be captaining the Melbourne for this battle so I will act as a lvl6 ship captain.
EDIT:Also note that the counterattack will be coming from a lower angle so we can train more of the Salamis Class ships guns on enemy bessels primarly the Musai class ships in the fleet and the much slower Chivaay class ships.

We'll do that the day after. I'm gonna have to crunch the numbers in order to figure out how much rp we will need to spend. I'm thinking we may buy GM Commands and use them as shock troops against those Zaku Kais in the counter attack.

Ok gentleman by now you know our situation and what needs to be done. Here are the orders for everyone and what they need to do.
Altoh:Join the Bollocks Fleet then buy 3 GM Command Space Types. Great to have you back!
Naulex: Buy 1 GM Command.
Zero-0: Transfer rp to me and enjoy the ride.
Fless: Same as Zero.
Aleksei: Buy 15 saberfish and and 2 GMs. Dont forget to send in optional armaments. Please include M particle warhead and some MIRV rockets.
Lets see how we do today gentleman! Also for those that are going to be buying stuff for the fleet please mention that those items are to be delivered to the Bollocks Fleet.
Copy of the action I sent in.
SHOP: Balloon service(4 salamis class balloons, 1 colombus class balloon, 6 asteroid balloons and 10 saberfish) + 1 Artillery barrage. Salamis balloon names: Dummy, Idiot, Dufus, Blockhead. Colombus class balloon will be named Fluffy.
RP spent: 1115. RP in account after purchases: 566.
FLEET BOARDING: Bollocks Fleet > Ohm Fleet + Dummy, Idiot, Dufus, Blockhead and Fluffy> Bollocks Fleet
CAPTAINING DUTY: Patrick "Packie" Foley > Melbourne(using ship captain spec)
OVERWATCH: > Bollocks Fleet
Overwatch strategy: Before the fighting even begins the Richmond and Melbourne will spread M particles across the local area with use of their engines. The 4 Salamis balloons will be with them along with the 10 saberfish balloons. I will be on the Melbourne acting as captain to give a much added boost to that ship in battle experience wise. I will only need 4 regular GMs and 10 balls to assist me in this portion of the battle. The M particles should be like ringing the dinner bell to the ZEF. Since most of the fleet consists of Salamis ships and 1 Colombus the point is to catch the ZEF being too aggressive in battle and have them throw everything they have at the diversion force. The rest of the fleet will stay out of sight in the distance using the asteroid balloons as cover to blend in with the rest of the debris from 2e while they move into position. I want the Melbourne and Richmond to throw everything they have right back at the Zeeks while the Saberfish Balloons go forward at the zeeks to simulate standard tactics of the EFSF to throw Saberfish at enemy formations to add to the deception. The point is to lure the Zeek mobile suits and ships into the M particle cloud to screw up communications between the rest of the fleet so reaction to the counterattack is blunted.
Once the ZEF have diverted most or at least some of their fleet in the attack on the diversion force the trap be sprung by the counterstrike force. The rest of the fleet should be in the counterattack with the Factory leading the attack from a lower angle. The counterattack will start off with a M particle warhead being fired from the Factory to throw everything in limbo for the Zeek fleet in terms of communications and sensors. The GMs and GM Commands will jump right into the fight once the M particle warhead has impacted near or around the Zeek fleet. The Musai class ships will have a tough time returning fire on the counterstrike force because of the lower angle(except the Final type in that fleet) The rest of the ships will have some way of returning fire but it wont be that much more effective. The point of this is to inflict maximum damage on the Zeon ships and units while they try to reposition themselves to return fire on the counterstrike force. The surprise from the attack should help give the less experienced pilots a chance against the more experienced Zeon units. The real Saberfish from the fleet will assist them in a supporting role. Also coordination amongst the ZEF units will be off because of the M particle warhead.
Once enough damage has been done and the Melbourne and Richmond have been relived from the wrath of the ZEF, a phased withdraw will begin back to the Ohm Fleet with a barrage to cover the retreat(artillery barrage). A signal flare from either the Melbourne or the Factory should begin the withdrawl to the Ohm Fleet.

I am incredibly impressed by this strategy. I'll weigh in on our next plan of action once we see what happens after this event and things settle down at home (Yes, the recession has finally hit Portugal)!

Sorry I forgot my email. hopefully one less GM won't be our downfall. The second shot of M particles was a nice add.
