2 week pause.
Okay so here's my idea. For this, we'll need at least 2 balloon services. The 3rd can be MS, I guess.
BEFORE THE BATTLE.
One Balloon service will be asteriod balloons. They will be used to buff up any shoal in the area. Inside/behind these balloons, Bravo and Charlie teams will be lying/hiding in wait. The Second balloon service will be used to replicate the ZEF ships, and will be positioned out of sensor range 'above' Tianem. In this dummy fleet, Able and Dog teams, as well as the MS support will be stationed.
EARLY BATTLE.
The battle will begin with Charlie Team (Cuyler) Sniping the STS-45 columbus, effectively nullifying Tianem's unit support. Bravo will pop out and commence the offensive on the Nashville immediately after.
MID BATTLE At the same time, Able and Dog teams will engage, bringing with them the false ZEF. THey will have very little time to do their damage before Tianem realizes that it's a ruse. The Veiled Intent, as well as the stationed MS will probably have to shoot back a bit to keep up the ruse.
LATE BATTLE
The real ZEF will engage from 'below.' Ideally, all of Tianem's ships will be pointing above them at the false ZEF. With luck, this will buy our ships some time to take potshots while their gunnery crews adjust. If we aim well, we will be able to cripple, if not completely destroy the fleet with minimal risk to our own ships.

We're actually limited in how many balloons we can get for free now. But if we have the extra cash, two balloon fleets might be doable. The pincer attack idea strikes me as a wise one. We might also want to split the ships up, but I'm open to suggestions on that one.
But I'm liking the way this is taking shape. Radune or anyone else, do you have any suggestions.

Ketara limited my Logistics Spec to 500 RP because we decided to use five full dummy balloon fleets on our last attack on Bollocks. He's also a bit peeved about space messing around with so many balloons.

Oh. Darn. Well, we can use our two regular supports and use yours for the MS support. IDK. How much does it cost to make asteroid balloons?

That's a good question, actually.
But we can still use the spec to get balloons, just not enough to make a full dummy fleet. We can, however, use it to make our fleet look a bit larger than it actually is, which might draw their fire long enough for our MS teams to surpress the biggest threats in the fleet.

Well the idea was just to force them to shoot in a direction we weren't coming from. DOesn't need to be a whole fleet.

You've got a point there.
Anyhow, let's assume that we kill Tianem here. What should be our next course of action following this aside from getting the damaged ships repaired and replacing any losses we might have taken during the battle? Should we go after Ohm or do you guys want to to try obliterating Bollocks one more time?

Depends on what Bollocks looks like Forcewise/where they are. I Assume we're going to retreat to Purgatorio to repair/consolidate what we have. if Bollocks is goign to keep prancing around our mines, we can probably have a go at Ohm. If they look like they're gonna come back for Dren or Helsing, we'll smack them.

Depending on what shape we're in, I'd ideally like to stop them from smashing up our mines so we don't have to keep sending people and diverting funds to rebuild them. I mean, I know they're not supposed to last forever, but it's still somewhat irratating to need to rebuild them every so often.

With some luck, a round of promotions should negate the need for them

I agree with Kuriboh. At this point of the way, the Asteroid Mines are serving more of a distraction for the EFSF than as a long term investment for us.
Remember, our major accomplishments happen whenever the EFSF is at another location other than +2DE. Our goal at this point is to eliminate as many EFSF NPC space commanders as possible. The longer the EFSF are distracted the better.
Besides, we now have Side 5 which we can then put replacement income sources. That and the EFSF will most likely stop after two mines in order to return home to repair.

You make a good point, Chan. The more they're away from the front lines lessens the risk to us getting hit with our pants down, so to speak.
My only real concern fleets wise is if/when we confront the Luna II Defense Fleet. Yazan is at L11 and is more than a match for most of us at the moment, and I'm dubious about sending NPCs just to draw his attention, so aside from sinking the ship he's based on and hoping he's on it when it goes, does anyone have a good idea on how we can negate him if and when it comes to it?

lvl 11 is about 220 VP or so. Are we still gonna get the MAF from earth, or are they making their own way up?
I ask because if we had a few more PCs, it wouldn't be hard to gang up on him.

It depends on what happens at Jaburo and how much our ground forces are willing to contest the EFGF's reconquest of Earth.
