Technical and Historical Data
The Flydart can be said to have been inspired by the Flatmouse, although its operating altitudes far exceed that of its inspiration. It is tasked with operating in upper edges of Earth's atmosphere between the mesosphere and lower thermosphere to attack and destroy units in the midst of reentry. Due to its operating environment, the Flydartt uses a rocket propulsion system, and while this is much simpler than the Flatmouse's turbojet/ramjet mode of propulsion, it limits the operational time greatly. Furthermore, the restraints caused by its fuel requirements necessitate a delivery method.

Currently two known methods are employed to get the Flydart from the ground to those great altitudes. The first is to piggyback off of a Depp Rog near its service ceiling and then detaching before reaching operating heights under its own power. The second is a direct launch from a spaceport using a booster rocket.

As the Flydart itself has the capability to achieve orbit and therefore is subject to the same reentry processes of any other spacecraft, it employs many design features that allows it to endure the stresses of atmospheric reentry including such as hidden missile bays that only open when firing a missile, and covered 20mm vulcan ports. It should be noted that any unused munitions remaining on the Flydart's external hardpoints must be ejected prior to reentry procedures.

Even though it is an extremely specialized aircraft with a very narrow range of uses, it enjoys an unparalleled mission success rating thanks to the helpless nature of its targets during reentry. Even a few holes from its vulcans have been known to upset a target craft's reentry process and quickly cause the latter to experience self-immolation.
