Technical and Historical Data
Following the creation of the GM Custom and GM Cannon II, the newfledged Anaheim Electronics went about creating a souped up version of the EF's old GM Cannon mobile suit. While the original GM Cannon was plagued with maneuverability problems, the designers at Anaheim were able to create a model that compared more to the Guncannon than its GM Predecessor.

The GM Cannon II is not as fast and maneuverable as the GM Custom, but can still compare to most Zaku class mobile suits. Its increased armor precludes the need for a shield, and it can still use the entire assortment of the GM Customs weaponry. Finally, true to its namesake, the Cannon II arms a pair of long range beam cannons on its shoulders. While both the GM Cannon and Guntank had targeting problems in Space due to cannon recoil, the Cannon II does not have such problems.

The Cannon II remains in limited production amongst the Earth Federation, deployed in a rough ratio of 1 to 3 with the high end GM Customs in elite mobile suit teams.
