Technical and Historical Data
As the Earth Federation Forces rebuilt its military power in the years following the One Year War, it used existing GM units to serve as testbeds for developing technologies to be incorporated into new mobile suit designs. One such unit was the RGM-79C Powered GM, a heavily-modified RGM-79C GM Kai, built to test parts and systems for the Gundam Development Project.

A new and extremely powerful thruster assembly was added, as well as thickened armor and a Gundam level output reactor. This overhaul made the Powered GM a level above all other GM models. It was faster, stronger, and could carry more powerful armaments than anything short of a Gundam unit.

However, the Powered GM was never intended for massed production. It was always a simple high end prototype, designed to test thruster arrays and reactor systems that would later be used on the GP series Gundams designed by Anaheim Electronics.
