Technical and Historical Data
Due to the constant air supremacy enjoyed by the Earth Federation, the need for a dedicated mobile SAM (Surface to Air Missile) units in their arsenal dwindled as funds were diverted to more pressing matters. This caused the mothballing and eventual scrapping of armored anti-air tracked vehicles and in its place came the unarmored buggy known as the Type 50 with its penchant for being cheap and quick to produce.

In fact, most of the costs associated with the Type 50 lay in its missile suite which, ironically enough, is highly effective against aerial targets. With an integrated radar package that can accurately track aircraft at ranges out to several kilometers. Of course the presence of Minovsky particles have reduced the effectiveness of the Type 50, but in an absence of interference this missile buggy is quite effective against aircraft.
