The Zaku II F2 carries very traditional Zaku armaments, including the Heat Hawk and cracker grenades, and options to store missile launchers or sturm fausts on the legs. In addition, the Zaku II F2 was rolled out with improved anti-mobile suit weaponry, including the Zaku Kais MMP-80 machinegun and a new model 120mm machinegun with the rare ability to fire multiple types of shell. The F2 is an improvement over the traditional F type in many ways, not the least of which is its weaponry. It is considerably lighter, mounts an improved reactor, and much more powerful directional thrusters, making it more maneuverable in space and giving it a much better ability to make boost-assisted jumps on land. Its armor is equivalent to the Zaku II Fs, although the armor around the cockpit has been increased. Further, the F2's cockpit has been redesigned, the newer model giving much better overall control of the mobile weapon. Although it was released late in the war, the Zaku II F2 was a considerable improvement over the Zaku II F, and considerably easier for green pilots to use, making it a much needed asset for late-war Zeon. |
