Technical and Historical Data The first mobile armor created by the AXIS Advance Fleet, the Zero the R was designed to be a versatile and powerful newtype use weapon, as well as to incorporate Zeons new I Field technologies, to make the armor impervious to most battleship weapons fire. The Zero the R was very large and heavily armored, and incorporated new systems like a panoramic cockpit and magnetic coating along with its impressive I Field. However, its weaponry was rather simplistic in comparison to its armor, simply equipped with 5 anti ship MPCs and a single anti mobile suit heavy scattering beam cannon. Large beam sabers were later added to its retractable arms. While the armor was intended for newtype use, it did not contain any bits, so a holdover program called the Half Control System was designed, a complex AI that would assist an Oldtype pilot in controlling the five turrets that were normally controlled by the Psycommu. This system, and the Zero the R's frame, would later be used on the AMX-02 Neue Ziel. Image Gallery
