The Food Market of Eco was cold and dreary this August night. Its owner, like the owners of nearby businesses, had fled when the skeletons arrived in town. The invader walked around, chattering his teeth while patrolling around the shop. The shop's sole product laid before him in a shallow bowl. Berries. Outside the market, a dark robed figure sneaked around. He ducked behind barrels, rolled under tables, and pressed up against the walls to avoid the skeletons prowling the roads at night. Slipping in a back entrance, he entered the interior. He spotted only one skeleton inside; this would be only too easy. Old Man Jenkins raised his left hand, causing a stone wall to rise on three sides of the skeleton. The skeleton's head turned 180 degrees, made an angry face and chattered his teeth. Then, raising his right, a shotgun blast erupted out of thin air - sending bone and metal shrapnel into the new walls. Jenkins grabbed the bowl, ready to sneak his way out. Then, the cavalry arrived. Ball Punion's sailboatwagon charged into town, pulled by Lizzie the Giant Komodo Dragon. Cannons were blasting, the sails unfurled, and Steve the Goat chewed cud - while Ball Punion, clad in leather armor posed atop the bow, ranting unintelligibly with a whaling harpoon in hand. Old Man Jenkins was at the front door, perplexed at the scene before him - before Ball Punion pointed the harpoon at him. "Nobody takes MY town, skeleton! Prepare to feel the wrath of my cannons - STEVE, MORE POWDER!" The old scholar tried to counter that he was not a skeleton, waving his bony hand and chattering his teeth to gain Ball's attention - but the circus act going on before him left him no options. Old Man Jenkins raised his right hand, holding the bowl with the other, and chanted an incantation. He ground around him rumbled, then burst forth water - flooding the market and the street. The waters rolled under "My Chicken" and caused the wheels to be suspended in the tidal wave. The wave moved out of the market, into the street, then carried the boat all the way to the Bank of Eco - crashing through the entrance and flooding the poor skeleton there. The skeleton took off its skull, pouring out water - and swiftly caught a harpoon in the face. "FREEDOOOOOOM!" Meanwhile, Katherine Lockheart tripped out on shrooms on the deck - getting uncomfortably close to Steve the Goat, who she kept calling 'Mr. Punion.' Outcome: Old Man Jenkins is triumphant. Old Man Jenkins: -10 HP, +20 SP, Berries Ball Punion: -10 HP, +15 SP, Stone, Bond Katherine Lockheart: +10 HP, bitch be trippin'. Food Market: Liberated. Bank of Eco: Liberated. |
