The strange, shriveled man took careful steps as he walked up to Dragonshroom's Closed Gardens. From all appearances, he appeared to be an ordinary old beggar, walking up to the farm to get a scrap of food to make it through the night. Those who took a close look at him would see his discolored skin and his empty eyes. Those who knew better would recognize the man as Old Man Jenkins, the insane magician. In the shadows, Jenkins' servants waited for his commands. The old man rapped on the door as hard as he could, surprisingly hard for an old man. Nobody was home though, he discovered, which was just perfect for his plans. "The pickaxe if you would, George," Old Man Jenkins whispered. "Demolish the building." The burly mercenary and the powerful gorilla bear hefted their tools of destruction and began chipping away at the Closed Gardens when a loud clatter heralded the arrival of a strange-looking vehicle, like a giant knife with legs. The vehicle came to a halt and began releasing armed fighters: Ball Punion and his gang of pirate/apprentices. "Stop right there criminal scum!" Ball Punion ordered, getting out his sword. "No," Old Man Jenkins countered. The two men glared at each other as their forces marshaled behind them. Punion's pirates growled and arr'ed while Jenkins' group made animal noises. George the Eco Mercenary got the battle started, firing an arrow at Ball Punion, planting the projectile in the man's shoulder. The four pirates suddenly charged forward with weapons drawn, slamming into Jenkins' two mounts with ferocity. The hungry animals talked a mean talk, but they lacked the strength to fight and were quickly knocked out. Jenkins drew his amazing sword, knocking all four pirates back with one swing. "Stay out of my affairs!" he demanded, menacing the four pirates as they got up. Jenkins was suddenly knocked to his knees from a blow to the back of his head. Ball Punion laughed heartily at the fierce blow and whistled appreciatively when Jenkins managed to stay on his feet. With a wild hoot, Ball ordered the pirates forward, assailing Jenkins from all sides. The scholar fought as well as he could, deflecting many of the attacks sent at him, but there were too many for him to completely stop. Finally, with a mighty punch, Ball Punion sent him crashing to the ground. "Justice is served once again!" Ball shouted, fist-pumping. "Um...Ball...this was that Dragonshroom guy's house," Whelp noted. "Oh...well, grab that guy's bow and we'll say this is what we meant to do," Ball ordered. Outcome: Dragonshroom's Closed Gardens saved. Old Man Jenkins: -80 HP, +100 SP George the Eco Mercenary: -10 HP (FNT), Loses Bow & Pheasant's Tail Arrows Maxwell Wigginton von Bear: -10 HP Gordon the Gorilla Bear: -10 HP Village Chief Ball Punion: -10 HP, +40 SP, Gains Bow & Pheasant's Tail Arrows Finch: No change Whelp: No change Till: No change Bed: No change |
