Dragonshroom resisted the urge to yell pirate-y things as he and his new crew of Spike pirates boarded the schooner to go hunting for lake creatures. Now that the mighty Sharktopus was vanquished, there would undoubtedly be plenty of suddenly-brave creatures swimming about for him to partake in. The waters were calm and the winds were light, leaving the ship moving slowly. It seemed like a perfect day for leisurely sailing. Leisurely sailing was not for hunters though and Dragonshroom stewed as he sipped some stew. "Avast!" one Spike yelled. "Something off to...uh...port? Yeah, port!" Clearly these guys had not been pirates very long, just learning the nautical lingo that Dragonshroom himself had mastered when he became a mighty sailor the day before. Three of the Spikes took control of the ship, holding it on course as Dragonshroom handed out weapons. The Spikes that received melee weapons looked appalled, rightfully fearing that they might be throw into the water to fight the creature the other Spike had spotted. Dragonshroom, with his Tiger Amethyst, leaned over the schooner's railing to get a good look at their prey. It was a large fish-like creature with a huge horn on its face. "There goes a Narwhal!" the Spike with the bow shouted. "EE-OO-EE-OO!" the Spike at the helm shouted. Dragonshroom held up the jewel and fired a spell from it, sending a hail of splinters into the water. Blood marked a trail where the shards had penetrated the sea creature's hides. Arrows began cutting through the water's surface as a Spike took aim. The Narwhal howled with pain as an arrow became embedded in its soft underbelly. Pain flooded the wounded creature's mind as it began charging the schooner, ignoring Dragonshroom and the Spike's attacks under its horn became embedded in the schooner's hull. It snorted angrily as it struggled to free itself, but the ship continued to bob gently on the surface. Before the other armed Spikes could react, Dragonshroom lifted them by the tails and threw them into the water, ordering them to finish the creature off. Teeth chattering, the two Spikes complied with their orders and began grappling with the slippery whale. Neither side was unwilling to put up with this nonsense and struggled to end the battle. The Spikes had the weapons and the leverage though, quitting slicing up the now-frightened Narwhal's hide with their blades. Finally, one Spike drove his knife into the Narwhal's skull, killing the creature the moment its brain was hit. The two Spikes shook hands and began to climb back into the ship when Dragonshroom pointed to the Narwhal. The pirates weren't done yet and were stuck removing the creature from the schooner's hull all the way back to the dock. Outcome: Dragonshroom is triumphant. Dragonshroom: +80 SP, -80 MP, Gains Narwhal Spear (Lv3 Craft, Melee), 3 Pounds of Narwhal Brains (Food, MP) Spike 1: No change Spike 2: No change Spike 3: No change Spike 4: No change Spike 5: No change Spike 6: No change |
