Katherine Lockheart chortled heartily as she watched her apprentices work. The four of them were hard at work constructing a monument to her power: a large fortress. The elves had ceded power over their village to her with the promise that she would protect them from pirates and wild citizens of Eco. "Keep working!" she ordered. "I want this ready by evening so I can host my 'I'm the Queen' welcoming party." The would-be queen ran her fingers through the coin purse on her hip. In addition to power over their lives and the right to their tax money, the elves had given Katherine a large sum of copper, an investment in the defense of their village, but she couldn't help but think of the luxurious items she could furnish her new office with. Slowly but surely, her plans were coming to fruition and her new castle was slowly nearing completion. Finally, the castle was complete and the three elves could collapse with exhaustion. They shared congratulatory handshakes and fist bumps as they prepared to relax. "Nero, what do you about digging me a pool in the back?" Katherine suddenly called out. "A cool swim is just the thing I'll need after a hard day at the office." The three elves were never seen again until later that day.
