Dragonshroom was a creature of so few words, people wondered if it even knew how to speak. Some wondered if it even understood language. And yet the 15 ft.-tall creature had somehow managed to perform business transactions on numerous occasions, even hiring apprentices once. Those who had worked with the creature said they somehow knew what it was saying when it looked at them, but they didn't know how. Those workers now sat around a stinking pub in the decaying torso of what used to be Sharktopus. Five purple-skinned dragons wearing eye-patches and bandanas and one human with green, bushy hair conversed quietly amongst themselves as they divvied up a pile of small coins. The five dragons turned all at once when they felt a familiar presence behind the human, who casually looked up shortly after.

"......" Dragonshroom said, pulling up a seat.

"What makes you think you're welcome here?" Spike 3 demanded. "Last time we saw you, you hung us out to dry."

"Traded us for a pile of gold." Spike 2 added.

"I don't even know who he is," Spike 6, the human, noted. "Friend of yours?"

"......" Dragonshroom muttered as he rolled his eyes. "......"

"Oh, so now you want us back all of a sudden?" Spike 4 smirked wickedly. "The old Spike 6 got killed while we were indentured to some nasty pirate."

"Getting away from him was kind of fun," Spike 5 sighed. "Too bad we lost our weapons."

"......" Dragonshroom offered.

"And we each want money!" Spike 1 demanded.

"Who is this guy?!" Spike 6 growled.

Dragonshroom turned and looked the new Spike 6 in the eye, implying something that Spike 6 must have understood because he slugged the big dragon's nose. Dragonshroom rubbed the offended area idly and pulled out some gold coins, sliding them over to Spike 6.

"I'm in," he said, taking the cash. "I need another round though."

"......" Dragonshroom signaled, making two ales appear.

The five dragons glanced at each other. Their old boss actually had money! Lots of it it seemed. They quickly traded looks. Each look was quick anyway; they decided to keep looking at different people for almost ten minutes before any of them spoke.

"Alright, we're in," Spike 1 agreed on behalf of the dragons. "But we want more than you sold us for!"

"And weapons, like you promised!" Spike 2 interjected.

Dragonshroom nodded and pulled more coins out of his pouch. The Spikes eagerly took their share and tucked them away.

"We should have a party!" one of the Spikes shouted. Now that Dragonshroom had them on his side again, he didn't care to try telling one from another.

"......" Dragonshroom agreed. "......"

"You have a boat?" Spike....I dunno....gasped. "Swimming party!"

"We're real pirates again!" two Spikes shouted, high-fiving each other.

Dragonshroom and Spike 6 looked at each other and shrugged, each having another drink before getting back to the business of drinking.

"This is the strangest pirate stuff I've ever done," Spike 1 muttered, saw pieces of wood.

On their way back to Eco, Dragonshroom and his band of pirates had made a stop in the farm lands, recently torn apart by war, to do some good deeds. This naturally confused the little dragons as pirates were not generally known for their good deeds, unless they were Sky Pirates, which they weren't. Dragonshroom was also not exactly known for doing good deeds, having destroyed one bank in Eco and murdered a fisherman before stealing his merchandise and reselling it.

"It's not so bad," Spike 2 said, holding up a plank as Spike 3 drove it into the ground. "How many times have we been shot since we started building a fence?"

"Twice."

"See? That's a lot lower than usual!" Spike 2 exclaimed. "Pirating is a lot safer when we aren't at the lake!"

Spike 1 nodded once before pausing to look back at his associate. "Speaking of that, how did we get the boat here?"

For a moment, Spike 2 had no answer. It certainly was strange, sailing a boat from the lake to the farmlands, but Dragonshroom....er....Captain Dragonshroom had done it! A large ditch had been carved in the ground where the ship had traveled. It was plain to see that a 2 day-long lifetime had molded Dragonshroom into an expert sailor.

"Beats me," Spike 2 said, getting back to work. "But it also beats having to sleep in a dirty barn or out in the open where those foxes and buffalo can get you."

Meanwhile, Dragonshroom was hard at work himself, busy figuring out a way for the Schooner to sail the open dirtseas with less getting out and pushing. Unbeknownst to his servants, he had spent the entire several hours pushing the ship himself from the lake to the farms. He had summoned Spike 6 to meet with him because the strange human seemed smarter than the rest of the Spikes. Dragonshroom had so far toyed with the idea of bigger sails and adding oars, but neither of those seemed like a viable solution.

"Why don't you just add wheels to it?" Spike 6 suggested before walking off with a mushroom in hand.

WHEELS? Wheels didn't just grow on trees!

Or did they?

This was worth investigating, Dragonshroom decided, and departed the ship in search of someone who knew whether or not wheels grew on trees, perhaps some kind of legendary Wheel Tree!
