Earth's divied up into continents, yup, didn't know that, eh? Each location is one day away, and you can only travel to those bordering one another. You cannot move over oceans unless one of the following occurs: you're piloting an aquatic mobile suit, you're piloting an airborne mobile suit, or you have a sea-worthy vessel. This means travel between North America and Europe, South America and Africa, etc require another mode of transportation if you're, let's say, a Leo.
North America: This includes Canada, the United States, and Central America. The climate here ranges from pretty frosty up north, to mild and tropical down around the Gulf. Most base types can be built here, though desert and arctic are pushing it.
South America: The continent south of the equator. Countries located here include Peru, Chile, Columbia, Brazil, and a lot of other sweaty places. All bases save desert, arctic, and lunar may be built here.
Africa: The wild, nearly untamed lands of Africa are home to many crazy people (no doubt). Much like today, many African nations are vying for power and fighting amongst themselves. All but arctic and lunar bases may be built here.
Europe: Rural, somewhat. Trees and whatnot, and a lot of beer... Europe, especially in the 18th, 19th, 20th century, lead the bandwagon in the industrialized world. But now, not so much. Although still the center for all things political and aristocratic, Europeans do little in the world market, besides hoard money. Desert and lunar bases cannot be built here.
Eurasia: The Middle East, Russia, with whole lot of Pakistani's. It's sunny, sandy, and very disputed, much like in the 20th century. Radical political factions are known to reside amongst the sand dunes, but few steps have been taken to eliminate such threats. Travelers should be wary. All but lunar bases can be built here, yet aquatic bases would be very much pushing it.
East Asia: This region's mainly jungle, with such places as Vietnam and Thailand. This vast continent exceeds far into the south to Indonesia and the Philippines. Desert and lunar bases cannot be built here.
Australia: Dry around Perth, very dry in fact. Watch Galipoli, great movie starring a young Mel Gibson. No arctic or lunar bases.
Antarctica: What's there to say? It's cold, barren, and very boring. Heero and Zechs face off in the Antarctic, and I'd say that was one of the slowest episodes in the series. Zechs calls out Heero, they fly there, they fight things en route, they continue to fly there. Blah, blah, blah. No desert, lunar, forest, urban, and water (since it's pretty fudging cold) bases can be built here.
Bodies of water on Earth include the North Atlantic Ocean, South Atlantic Ocean, Pacific Ocean, Arctic Ocean, and Indian Ocean, wherein aquatic bases can be built.
