Conflict at the Shore:
A single mobile suit sits by itself on the shore of the Mediterranean sea. Its blue colored armor making it stand out amongst the sand and rocks. Its pilot is sitting in the suits hand below the cockpit drinking a cup of coffee as she looks out at the water. Her thoughts are on the mission she been on for the last few days and the persistent Federation mobile suit. She can’t understand how the pilot thinks he can succeed alone against a whole battle group of mobile suits and the ships to transport them.
And now with the base almost complete and some of its fixed defense up and running she really doesn’t understand how it will make a difference. She finishes her coffee and then climbs back into her mobile suit’s cockpit and starts everything up.
"This Ensign Penny McKenzie ready to begin patrol." states Penny into her radio.
"Acknowledged Ensign. You may proceed." answers the voice of the base’s operations officer.
"Ren, you there?"
"Affirmative." answers another voice. "I am proceeding to the start of our patrol. You are on time like usual."
"Of course."
With in minutes Penny finds herself beside the larger Gelgoog Marine and two Zaku II JC mobile suits. She nods as she begins the patrol. She notes how one of the Zakus is armed with a magella cannon and the other is armed with a bazooka. That seems to round out their armament nicely since hers and Ren Steward’s mobile suits were mainly armed with machine guns.
About an hour later with the four mobile suits well into their patrol routine finds them being watched by Tyler Back in his Guncannon. He has its beam rifle up and lined up on the Zaku in the lead. Frowns at the distance of the enemy mobile suit but shakes his doubts away and fires the weapon. The energy blast misses and hits the ground in front of the green mobile suit. As the Zaku disappears in the cloud of dirt and debris its allies turn towards the direction of the shot and open fire.
As machine gun rounds and bazooka rounds shred the trees around kneeling Guncannon its pilot begins to curse violently as he whips his beam rifle to side and fires at them. This shot luckily hits its target and blasts off the arm of the Gelgoog Marine holding its machine gun. But the suit continues firing with its other arm that has a higher caliber machine gun mounted on it. Tyler begins to fire his shoulder mounted cannons as well. A round lands in front of the Gouf as it starts to run forwards and it disappears in another cloud of debris.
Tyler is slammed around in his cockpit as a larger round than what has been fired so far against him lands nearby. He frowns as he searches for the new attacker and spots the Zaku II JC that he targeted earlier. In its hands is a cannon. He whips his beam rifle over to target this mobile suit and begins to fire the weapon rapidly. He hits his target as energy blast after energy blast rips the Zaku II apart.
Tyler’s eyes grow large as a shadow falls over his mobile suit and then a glowing heat saber slams through his beam rifle. His eyes shoot over at his side monitor and looks up at the Gouf standing over his kneeling mobile suit. The Guncannon drops the remains of its beam rifle and moves to stand up. Penny has other ideas in mind as her Gouf lowers its scarred shoulder and slams it into the Guncannon. The Red mobile suit is slammed back to the ground but this time it is on its side. Penny raises her mobile suit’s hand that has the machine guns and begins to fire them into the red mobile suit. She frowns as the rounds seem to have little effect. As the Guncannon begins to roll on to its back, the Gouf whips out its head rod and wraps it round the Guncannon’s head and it heats up destroying the head.
Penny then grabs her heat saber again and taps it against the Guncannon’s cockpit. "If you come out now I will not kill you. I will even let you go. All I want is your mobile suit."
"You bitch!" cries Tyler into his radio.
"Do it or you will die."
Seeing no choice Tyler blows the hatch of his mobile suit and climbs out while making sure his hands are always visible.
"Well, you better get going before I change my mind about letting you go." orders Penny over a loud speaker.
Tyler curses and leaps off the side of the Guncannon and runs off into the burning trees. Penny nods to herself and looks back towards the rest of her patrol. The survivors at least. She then notifies operations that the attacker has been dealt with.
Outcome: Base Completed
Tyler Back: MS captured, 90 exp, 100,000 credits
Penny McKenzie: 1 day of damage, 110 exp, Guncannon captured, 220,000 credits, 1 x Zaku II JC awarded
Ren Steward: 2 days of damage, 100 exp, 220,000 credits, 1 x Zaku II JC awarded, Magella Cannon found
Surprises:
Zen Dias watches as the convoy moves across his viewport. His ship is well below the convoy with the Dagger along side. He looks at his mission timer and nods.
"Anytime now." states Zen as he leans towards the heavy class in front of him. With his ships almost complete powered down and the fact that the convoy is spreading M-particles to mask them selves, they are almost invisible sitting there below the convoy.
Ahead he spots weapons fire as his fleet’s mobile suits open fire on the convoy. As he watches he spots the two Salamis Kais fall back from the other four ships. He nods and signals the communications officer to begin. As the ship around him comes to life. And it blasts towards the convoy. As planned the weapons officer launchs missiles at the Columbus class ships and he looks over and sees the Dagger do the same. Each ship targeting a different enemy.
As the missiles race ahead of the two ships they turn slightly to target different ships but this time they will have to rely on their mega particle cannons. He watches as a explosion signals the destruction of a mobile suit and then three more rapidly after. Then the missiles from his ship strike the first Columbus Class and it explodes in a massive fireball that takes out a mobile suit guarding it and peppering the ship next in line with debris which causes its engines to stop. The missiles from the Dagger strike the ship last in line.
Zen nods as he watches as his ships mega particle cannons turn towards the last moving Columbus class and they open fire. These shots hit the ship almost dead center and he watches it explode. He then looks over and sees the Dagger moving to intercept a Salamis Kai that is moving away from the combat zone. He looks over at the other enemy Salamis Kai and frowns as it begins to fire on his ship. How it is doing that with all the damage to it is beyond him but he knows he will be unable to dodge.
He sighs with relief as only a couple of the cannons pointed at him fire. His ship rocks as his ship’s right engine takes a hit. As his ship slows he waits for the enemy ship to fire again but nothing happens and sighs with relief.
"They must of used the last of their oxygen to fire that." states Zen as he looks back to his right and watches the Dagger cripples the last enemy ship. Then all of a sudden the ship erupts into a giant fireball. The dagger disappears in the glare and Zen assumes the worst as he is forced to look away with spots in his vision. Then over the speakers he hears a crackling.
"The bastard self destructed so we couldn’t capture him." explains the voice of the Dagger’s Captain.
"Come back here and we will begin salvage operations." orders Zen. "Status on mobile suits?"
"We lost a Zaku II F but the others grouped together and took care of the rest and they captured two of the GM s intact." replies the operations officer.
Zen nods and walks back to his command chair and flops down in it ad begins to supervise recovery operations.
Outcome: Convoy Destroy
Zen Dias: 2 days of damage, 90 exp Dagger Damaged, captured 1 x Salamis Kai, 1 x Columbus, 2 x GM s, salvaged a GM Shield
