They Meet Again:
Selena Writz leans against a railing on a platefom over looking her mobile suit. With technicians swarming all over the mobile suit she moved up here so she would be out of the way. Beside the Galbaldy Alpha is th Gerbera Tetra. A predator if she ever saw one. Her helmet floats beside her as she watches the techs work. Further down the hanger sits another mobile suit. This one makes her nervous. When ever she goes near it she gets the feeling that she is being watched. She shakes the thought from her head and goes back to watching the technicians work on her machine.
On the bridge of the Crawfish James Daviott goes over status reports on the screen that is attached to his command chair. He sighs at endless paper work his job gives him but he continues to plod through it. As he reads the bridge goes about their work calmly and quietly. There is some chatting among the crew but they talk in quiet voices as if afraid to break the quiet surrounding them. Then the alarms sound and James looks up from the reports.
“Sir. Our outer perimeter have detected a small fleet of ships heading our way.” states the communications officer. “And they are flying the Tiamat Battlegroup ID codes.”
“What?” erupts James as he signals the operations officer to deploy mobile suits. “Why would they do that? They are a pirate group.”
“Sir. A Rick Dom with the markings we faced before has been spotted.”
“That’s why.”
As he watches two of the ships in his fleet fly forwards and drop two pods. They then make a hasty retreat back to the fleet. James attention then turns to the mobile suit catapults as Selena’s Galbaldy Alpha and Adam East’s Gerbera Tetra are raised into position. He listens to their ready launch to launch. When the catapult count down reaches zero both mobile suits blast away from Crawfish and rocket towards the distant ships. The Gerbera quickly out distances the Galbaldy. Selena just shakes her head and goes to her guard position.
Ahead she watches as the Musais in the enemy fleet begin to launch mobile suits. She raises her eyebrows as the mobile suits blast past the lonely Rick Dom II that was launched. The majority of the mobile suits heading towards them are Zaku II Kais she notes to herself, with a few Rick Dom II s added for good measure. As the attack force reaches a certain point she sends a signal out from her mobile suit. Then the enemy formation is showered with explosions as two 288-tube micro-missile pods fire.
When the glare fades only about half the enemy mobile suits remain. She grins to herself and puts her throttle on full and blasts towards the enemy. With her are the other mobile suits of her fleet. Now with the fight on more equal levels she picks her first target. The Rick Dom II sees her coming and raises its giant bazooka to aim at her. As the Dom fires, the Galbaldy easy dodges the shot and returns fire with its beam rifle. The shots take out the Dom’s bazooka and right leg. She is then past the Rick Dom II and leaves it to be dealt with later.
Her next target is another Rick Dom II and this one is distract by the Act Zaku and its pilot. They exchange fire but neither is able to hit its target. Selena eyes narrow as she stores her beam rifle and draws a beam saber. She then dives down at the Rick Dom II. Its pilot never sees her coming. As she slices the mobile suit in half. The alpha squadron’s fighters blasts through the opening made by their side’s mobile suits. She nods her satisfaction as she looks for another target.
James watches the exchanges between the mobile suits for a few minutes before his attention is drawn to the enemy ships. The fighters reach firing range quickly and they unload their missiles on a single ship in hopes of destroying and their gambit succeeds as the ship erupts into a fireball. Then the Beetle and the Terrapin open fire on the enemy fleet. As James watches this his ship moves up to add its fire power to the bombardment.
Selena watches this exchange briefly as she readies herself for another target. The a Rick Dom II appears in front of her and fires its bazooka at her. She quickly blocks the shot with her shield but is thrown back by the explosion.
“So we meet again.” states a voice over her radio. “You will not be saved this time.”
“We shall see.” answers Selena as she returns fire with her beam rifle but the Rick Dom dodges the shots easily.
“Ah. So you are a bitch. How would you like to join a real man? And have him show you what it is like to be a woman. With me you will stay on your back.”
“Bastard.” mutters Selena as she concentrates on shooting at the Dom while trying to close with it.
Her mobile suit is able to slowly close the distance but she knows she will not get close enough to take him out. Then their fight is interrupted as the Gerbera Tetra blasts down from above and slides its beam saber through the Rick Dom’s bazooka. Then it turns and points its arm at the Dom but before Adam can fire the Dom fires its scattering beam gun and blinds Adam. Then the Dom blasts past the Gerbera Tetra while shoving a heat sword into it. The attack misses anything vital but forces the suits reactor to shut down as safety features kick in.
Then the Rick Dom is faced with the Galbaldy Alpha but a flare launched from the pirate group interrupts their fight. The Rick Dom salutes Selena and flashes its beam gun again and blasts away.
“See you next girly.” states the voice over the radio.
Selena stops her mobile suit and watches the enemy fleet retreat. She then turns and heads back to Crawfish.
Outcome: Ship protected.
James Daviott: no damage, 100 exp, Grunt pilot in Galbaldy Alpha upgraded to Vet status
Adam East: 1 day of damage, 120 exp
Whisper in the Wind:
Seito Kusanagi once again sits on a hill top watching the convoy. Before him is a rich valley with a road roaming down its center. The convoy he has been tasked to defend is currently heading towards him. He sneaked to his current position in the night. Hidden by a cloudy moonless night. He watches the Zaku I in the lead as it calmly walks down the center of the road armed with a bazooka. Further down amonst the transport trucks are the other two mobile suits of his team. Both of which are Zaku II but each was built for a different purpose. Seeing all is right with the convoy he takes another look around as he switches cameras.
As the hours pass Seito holds his position as he watches the convoy get closer and closer. Then out of the woods shells begin to fall around the convoy. Seito curses to himself and begins searching the woods for a target to shoot at. The Zaku II JC in his group begins to return fire with its magella attack cannon. And then its leg missiles go flying off into the trees. The were followed by thumps that Seito could feel in his seat. He spots the smoke and explosions in the trees and zoom in on the area. He raises an eyebrow as he sees two Zaku II mobile suits fireing on his forces. He zeroes in on the closest target and fires hjis beam rifle. The energy blast takes off the leg of the tart and the mobile suit falls to the ground. Then the Zaku's hatch blows and a pilot climbs out of the cockpit. The other Zaku stops long enough to pick up the pilot and then moves into a denser part of the trees where Seito couldn't see. He curses and orders his mobile suits after them. But they are unable to find the attackers. Seito sits pack and watches as the convoy continues on its way.
Outcome: Convoy Safe
