Welcome to the One Year War Gundam RPG: Echoes of the Year.

This rpg takes place during the one year war. The story will only go where you take it. That means that Zeon can win. You drive the story not npcs and such.

Doesn’t that sound like fun? I thought it did but remember that is only background noise. The rest is up to you. So get to it.

The Rules that are Standard:

1) The first rule you should be aware of is that there will be no racism, sexism, religious, foul etc... language in the rpg. I will allow you to do it somewhat in roleplaying. Out side of roleplaying it will be met with severe penalties. And try not to be excessive. Thanks. And I mean this.

2) I will often make mistakes. Point them out to me and chances are I never even noticed them. The nicer you are about it when you tell me the more likely you will like how I will fix it. If you are rude about it you won't like what happens. You can either tell me about in the chat, on the Question board, or over email which ever is easier for you to do. I may even give rewards. This is up to me though. You bug me I will not reward you.

Also I would like it if you didn't argue about the outcomes of battles. If you felt that I forgot something in the battle or whatever you can bring that to my attention but as soon as you start arguing I will either take away exp or just expell you from the rpg. Simple as that. And this has happened.

3) Stay active. If you can't for a specific reason like you have to go somewhere let me know on the main board. I am understanding.

4) No non-human pilots. I have seen people join rpgs as stuff that makes no sense. This annoys me. I will not accept them. I have seen monkies!!! Yes. Monkies. *looks at the person responsible.*

5) This is the most important rule of them all. You must have fun. If you can't then why did you even join? Things that happen in the rpg should stay there. Thus no hacking of other peoples computers because you are angry over something they did to you. Or any other such stuff. If I see it you will be asked to leave. Thanks.

Updating and Emailing:

I will updating Monday - Friday. I will accept actions during these days until 9:00 PM pacific time. Joining Emails I will accept any time and add the people who join when I update next. Also any questions you may have can be sent any time. I will answer the email as soon as I see it. Also I will have a board set up for questions that you should also use. Also note that if you keep asking me if I am finished updating yet or is it up yet I will deduct 50 exp from your character each time and give you damage. I will only give one warning. That is a very annoying thing to do and it will so me down.

To do actions and the other stuff like that in this RPG you will have to email it in. The RPG email is warofsuits@gmail.com. To help me organize the emails I receive please have the title of the email like this: Mobile Weapon Name(If you have a mobile weapon) - Action - Date

Simple Actions:
Here is a list of all the simple actions. There usually will be more you can do in a simple action but that will be explained.

Movement: This is where you tell me where you want to move to. Like say you are on the moon and what do go to Earth so you just say "I would like to move to Earth please."

Movement is measured in days. As in how many days it will take you to get there. The lowest amount of travel time you can do is 1 day. Unless for some reason I move you some where instantly but that is only under my control. With a ship or something you can shorten travel time.

Battle: This is where you attack something or are attacked. It will be writen by a battle writer and then posted in either the battles page or the Events page. Usually when someone Role Plays before the battle it usually effects the battle but a lot of times people just attack others with out any reason other than they can. Also a person can say whether he wants to kill someone or not. Usually you don't have to say this because usually it just takes common sense.

Purchases: This is where you buy stuff from the shop or other people. You must have the math in your email so I can see that you have the right amount. I will check you math so don't try sneaking something into it. I frown on this but can't do anything more than just not add it to its page. Also you have to have a place to put this purchase. Like for mobile suits you need a ship, installation or a MS Team to put them.

Role Playing: This is where you role play you character on the role playing board. This can earn you better ranks, stuff or your upgrade earlier. Also with Role Playing you can make you character feared or respected by the other side. Sometimes during a major event I will stop at certain points for you to decide on how to handle a certain situation and that will effect a battle.

Battles:

Here is a list of the different type of battles you can do:

Ambush: This is the most common and most basic type of battle. Basically you just jump out and attack someone from the other side. Usually the attacker can expect low damage while the defender can sometimes gain heavy damage. The exp gain for this type of battle is low. Also if you have a weapon that has a long range you can fire it off at the enemy and the target can't do a thing about. Remember that you can not attack your own side. This will get you in big trouble..

Patrol: This is where you go out and look for enemy activity. Chances are that you will not find any. Sometimes you will find independant activity or activity from a power that is an enemy of your side. In these cases you may find a part, a weapon or something of the like. Now if an enemy Player Character is doing something in the area you have a small chance of finding him/her. You can choose to this over a few days.

Salvage: This is where you go out and try to find random stuff. You have a small chance of finding something. You can find stuff for your mobile weapon or even find a mobile suit. It is rare to find a mobile suit. You will gain experience rarely in this action but the rewards are worth it. A player character has to be present to do this action.

Piracy: This action has you trying to steal from a ship or even stealing a mobile weapon weapon from someone. You can choose to do this over a few days. Depending on where you are you can have a high chance of finding someone to try to rob or you won't. This is random. Also experience will determine whether you can actually capture what ever you are attacking. Some will be easy to capture while others won't. The rewards for this action can be high while depending on the difficulty of the capture. This can be done by anyone but remember if you are on the EF or Zeon side do not do piracy in areas controlled by your side since this will get you arrested. Also note that this will effect your rep for either your side or yourself. You can choose to not attack certain groups.

Missions: These are actions posted by the various powers found in this rpg. They come in three types: Open(Anyone can do these.), Side specific(only members of that side or rogues(only if on friendly terms) can do these missions) and Mercenary(only rogues can do this action.). These come in varying difficulties ranging from fairly easy to super difficult. The rewards vary as well. Like you can earn anything from unique weapons to even mobile suits and anything in between. Even money. PC's can post these as well by sending an email to me. The format for these will be found on the Mission board.

Duel
: This battle is when a single person challenges another person to a fight that has a chance for high damage. Also groups of people can face another group of people. This can also be made into a death match. This battle type is the only one that you can have with the same side as you and have the other person as your opponent unless you decide to have a contest out of an event battle. Also if you are ambushing a person that is also ambushing you it will turn into a duel. The damage level in this is usually moderate to high and the exp gain is moderate. You can be on the same side to do this.

Event: This battle covers any major battle, fleet actions or installation attacks. You will find yourself having trouble in this unless you lay out a battle plan. Usually battle plans aren't needed for the first two types of battles but it is needed here. Also you may want to have more than just yourself in this kind of battle. The potential for damage in this type of battle is high but so is the exp gain.

Optional Armament:

A lot of mobile weapons have a lot of weapons and most of these can't be carried so you should choose which weapons you want to take with you into the battle. Unless you want me to choose. Which means you can enter a battle with just ammo drums or clips as your weapons. Also note that the more weapons you carry with you has to be stored somewhere and this also adds weight so you may not want to take a lot of weapons in certain battles.

Also some mobile weapons have armor and what not that can be added to the mobile weapon. I won't put that on unless you ask me to. Also there are core fighters in some of the mobile suits and thus if you want you can go into a battle as that. Some mobile suits may also have a mode like say a fighter mode that they can change into. If you want to start out as that in the battle please let me know.

Sides:

These are the sides you can join as. Each Side will have a ground or space force. This only effects where you will start.

Earth Federation: The EF has been found to a bit on the tyranical side when it comes to the places found out side of Earth. And they crack down on the colonies severely. But they are ruled by democracy. Its military is some what control by the civilian government but the military has final say on  how it can go about its objectives. Its military seems to fight better in gravity than the other powers and thus all EF pilots receive a bonus to their abilities while fighting in gravity. Also their military forces seem to include less mobile weapons than say the Zeon forces do. As a member of the EF you will start off with 100,000 credits. As a ground forces member you will start off in South America. As a space forces you will start off on the moon.

Duchy of Zeon: Zeon has been found to a bit extreme with its military tactics. Its military is control by a single person, who also controls the civillian government as well. They control little on Earth but in space they are the major power. As a member of this side you will receive a bonus to your abilities while fighting in space. You will start out with 75,000 credits. As a ground forces member you will start in Asia. As a space forces member you will start on the moon.

Rogue
: If you choose this side you are not a part of any power. You will have no weekly income but you can do jobs that the other sides can't and thus this is how you will receive money. Also as you do actions and jobs you will become liked or disliked by the other sides. Also there will be numerous other sides you can ally with. Like pirates, the colony management corporation and other such groups. You will start with 200,000 credits and can start where ever you want.

Damage, Repairs and Upgrades:

In this rpg damage you receive in combat will be measured in days. This is because that is how long it will take you mobile suit to repair. At the end of each day you will have one day taken of the repair time and this means that if you have 1 day left you can't make actions that day but the next day. Now the max amount damage a mobile suit can receive is 5 days before it is destroyed. Repairs can be reduced if you are in an installation and this is by half but the lowest you can go is 1 day. Now when a mobile suit reaches six days of repairs it becomes destroyed and you have to wait the total six days for the suit to be remade. This can't be lowered.

Now sometimes you will die. All this means is that your pilot is dead and you can't do actions for six days except for send in a name for the replacement pilot. This most be done in the six days of death time or won't be able to do action untill you do to a total of 10 days and then you will be removed. Also you will lose half your exp and abilities and you will go down two rank spots but you will not lose your money or things you own.

Ships can also be damaged. These will be measured in days as well but they will be longer than mobile suit repair time. Also some damage can only be repaired at a spaceport or a seaport (player ships like those controlled by a pc instead of a mobile suit will automatically repair like the suit PC). These will be marked. Also a ship can have various parts of damage and still be able to do battle. This will reduce your effectiveness. Also ships can still do actions while damaged since a lot of the damage will not be that which prevents the ship from doing anything.

Now when you gain enough exp you become too good for you mobile weapon like what happens through the gundam series with Amuro and Char. Thus you go out and get you mobile weapon destroyed and it will start upgrading. This will take 8 days. There is no lowering this amount. Ship upgrades will operate a bit differently. They will take just as long but often they will be more minor than that with a mobile suit. Like with the Salamis kai. It added minor weapons upgrades with the ability to hold mobile suits.

Experience:

Experience in this rpg will be measured in Exp points. The higher the number the better the pilot but also remember the suit will also effect your abilities. Like for example a pilot with 2000 exp in a Zaku I will still get easily destroyed by someone with 100 exp piloting Neue Ziel.

Fleets:

To make a fleet you have to have 2 or more ships. Then you email me telling me you want to make a fleet. This email must include the fleets name These ships have to be owned by only you as well. This stops fights from happening among people making joint fleets. Which to me is a pointless headache, very pointless. The reason to make a fleet is that each ship in it will work with the other ship/s in it and make them stronger in a group than they would be alone. Fleets can not be made up of a combination of Space-only and Ground-only ships(or any such combination.) Come on this is common sense.

With a fleet you can blockade a colony cluster or a planet which includes the moon. You also can lay a siege on an installation. Earth has 8 areas that need to blockaded to blockade the whole planet.

Mobile Suit Teams:
A MS Team is a group 3 or less mobile suits. A PC can form one by either buying mobile suits and pilots or by joining up with other PC's on their side. The MS team must be named and have a leader. This gives you extra firepower as well as extra protection. Remember more people around are better than one. Each member can do their own actions but a MS team leader can override those actions. Remember to consult your MS team before doing this because PC's can just leave the team at any time.

Capturing Territory and People:

Capturing Territory:
This is were you control and area gain benefits from this. To do this you must destroy all installations (or capture them) that belong to someone else other than yourself or your team. Areas controled can pool their resources but remember that large areas it will take time to get mobile suits from place to place.

Territories on Earth: You have to build five bases there. Once done you control the area. You will also get 100,000 credits per base per week plus 50,000 credits a week.

Other Planets but Earth(Earth can't be controled this way.): You must build ten bases, two space fortresses in orbit, and one space station in orbit as well. You will receive 100,000 credits per base per week, 50,000 credits per space fortress per week and 200,000 credits per space station per week plus 50,000 credits per week.

Colony Cluster: You must capture all the colonies found there in addition to the normal requirements. You must build three colonies, and space fortress. You will receive 300,000 credits per colony per week, 100,000 credits per space fortress per week plus 50,000 credits per week.

Now areas can be blockaded. There really isn't any special thing about this. Just remember the more forces there are the more effective a blockade is going to be. 2 ships just will not do the job unless it is a smaller installation. Also these can bring about an event everyday. All that needs to be done is the defenders need to break free or destroy the blockade. Now the defenders can not build new installations in the blockaded area but they can get other stuff. The blockaders can build installations but they will not effect ownership of an area.

Now a person can be captured if they are entering a controled area, attacking an installation or other such stuff. Now when a PC is captured they can not do any actions but roleplaying at the location they are being held and trying to escape. When a person is captured they lose the equipment they have with them. This equipment goes to the person who captured you. PC's can try to get them back when they try to escape though. Now a prisoner can be ransomed off if you choose.

Teams:

This is a group of people on the same side who decides to form a team. A team is like a battlegroup or a battlion. You are still in the same side but you have more freedom. This is like say the Delaz fleet from 0083. Often a team will just be an idependant force of that side, further the goals and such stuff for that side. To form a team you must have another PC ready to join. You have to make a name for the team and you have to make a command structure. You will also get to make a small shop for your team. 60% of this money will get put into a team account that can be used to form Missions that are either open type or mercenary type. This money can also be used to buy stuff from your sides' shops to add to team owned installations, ships or other such things. Also the money earned from the controled areas will get split up among team members equally. Also you will still get the credits your rank in your side will give you.

Inactive:

If you don't do an action for two months in a row I will put a warning up on the main page and give you a month to do another action. If you don't I will remove you. And there will be no second chances. If you go on vacation please tell me so I don't remove you.

Scale:
Here is the list of the general values to determine the values you get when you do actions:

Ambush: - 50 exp
Duel - 80 exp then + 10 exp for each additional person beyond the original pair
Ship Attack - 140 exp
Installation Attack - 180 exp
Resource Satellite - 60 exp + 200,000 credits for each person if successful

Other:

The joining page will have everything you need to know about joining. So look there. Also if you think I have missed something just let me know and I will add. You may also get a prize for it.
