Background: Jack was born in a working class family. Early on he was taught the value of struggling, hard work, and earning a living. He did the best he could in school, passing high school and earning a degree in history. He was planning on being a teacher, but decided to head towards a career path of military after it started to become clear that the Republic of Zeon might one day start a fight with the National Guard it was forming.
It also helped that his old high school girlfriend, Jane Sheppard, also joined in not too long ago, easily making him pick the Air Force. With his degree already in toe, it was easy for him to start flying almost immediately. He managed to start flying in the sky and in real life, marrying his high school sweetheart shortly after she got her wings.
However, it was not meant to be as within a few months after their wedding, during a routine patrol, was ambushing by rogues. She went in back to save him, which ended up saving his life.
However, due to some injuries, it also put him in a chair.
He was eternally grateful to his wife for the rescue, but unfortunately, she could not forgive herself for her actions and soon divorced him out of guilt. In addition, he also rose two ranks for his sacrifice in battle, making him a Sgt and securing him in a desk job for the remainder of the war.
Or so he thought.
The war had started to go bad for the EF. Even with the advantage of the new test pilot, they needed more people to handle things around the Earth. It was there that he was put back into active duty. He was happy at least to hear that his wife had been reassigned as well, but another unit. For now, it seemed that he would be okay, try to redeem himself, and maybe, just maybe with his continued therapy, walk again. Maybe then his wife would forgive herself and allow them to be reunited.
However, this would not be the case as she died courageously in the trap meant for the Red Comet and his forces. While it gave him some comfort to know how well she died for the Federation, the void that her death now brought to him made the void made by her leaving only grow.
Personality:
Jack is a somewhat cynical man, keeping mostly to himself, and muttering side comments on the end towards those who glare at him in his chair.
In battle, however, he becomes entirely enthusiastic, loving the chance to be useful, despite his disability. He can be heard constantly taunting his foes, mocking their techniques, and making sure that when they do make a mistake in combat, it will be a big one.
Jack was killed defending the Gundam Alex from the coming Zeon forces on Side 6.
