Maybe it could be spelled GUERRILLAS a little more, tho. This +1. Also I don't know if it's possible or not, but I'd kinda like some way to get commissioned for doing specific trading runs for various sides (for maybe guaranteed passing patrols and/or some slight bonus, but with the caveat that you start to go 'unfriendly' to opposing sides?). I mean, Zeon/EFF had to outsource some of their shipping to independent contractors, didn't they? Not that the economics of the game aren't fairly well-balanced as-is, just kinda thinking out loud. I mean, I can't imagine Zeon forces WANTING to shut down somebody bringing them air/water, or the EFF patrols cutting off a luna titanium transport that is bringing them vital materials - they'd probably be commissioning them. Also, cocks.

Other than the "artifacting" (that should totally be a word) or stuff being a little out-of-date with minor errors here and there, I'm loving the game. I would maybe try to add one or two more writers to each side (especially Federation-wise) if you can swing it, not because the current writers are bad as much as I am afraid of them burning out. So far there's been a pretty consistent stream of battles every night and from hearing them mention tidbits about the process it seems like they put forth a lot of effort in to maintaining a certain level of quality - can't say enough good things about that.
I'll add more if I can think of anything.
Edit - Oh, and I guess the Capture / Hostage process seems a little ambiguous to me and I wouldn't mind more explanation or more standardization, but as evidenced by the questions I routinely ask about OYW to various people I'm kind of dumb. Just a thought, though.

The capture process is supposed to be ambiguous. The captive's side is supposed to be scared.

So far, the only issue for me has been my emotional mood swings that impaired me in the beginning. I plan on writing a comic on it to make it humourous sooner or later.
Asides from that, I've been getting used to moving around on Earth. My characters are more vibrant (and by vibrant, I mean rainbow gay) this time around, so it ends up being much easier to write roleplays for them.

This is my first time playing a OYW game, so I don't know how much I could contribute in terms of suggestions. I will say that I'm having a very good time so far! The updates are timely and the writing is enjoyable. While I'm still struggling to get a comprehensive grasp on the mechanics (thanks for your patience, fellow officers!) it's been a blast trying to hatch out plans on the forums and attempt to outmaneuver the enemy. The fact that I've gotten to use the term "Xanatos Gambit" in more-or-less the right context makes me smile. I think my only complaint might be that all of the expandable definition lists on the site make it a bit hard to navigate back and forth between pages at times, as well as prevent a quick CTRL-F to locate certain bases on the tactical page. The site design itself is also a little dated, and it hurts some of the functionality. But those are really minor complaints, and again, I'm having a really good time. I joined for a very specific number of reasons (including the fact that this image was so awesomely OYW I couldn't possibly say no) and so far I have not been disappointed. I look forward to seeing what happens next!

Google Chrome is halfl not compatible with the site. Clicking on some links requires patience...but the entire bases page is expanded along with most of the rosters. (MAF is the only one that appears condensed) Use it if you want to do base search.

Yeah we know that Chrome and the latest version of Safari break the site all to hell.
Marticus, I hear Andrew disables scripts on the website, which leaves all of the dropdown menus constantly open. That would make ctrl-f'ing everything possible, if that is your preferred form of navigation.
In OYW 4 the bases page was not concealed in dropdown menus, and I changed it this time because the bases page is HUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUGE. I still don't know if I entirely like the new layout for bases.

I will definitely try that, thanks!
I have a feeling a lot of your problem with Chrome and Safari have to do with the lack of proper DOCTYPEs. I know that and some unclosed tags make it a little less functional on IE8. One example that pops to mind is the Battlefield. The Events/Battles have November inside the October tree when I use IE8. This makes it so you have to expand October before you can expand November -- if memory serves, this is because October's dl is never properly closed. Firefox forgives the mistake, IE8 doesn't (with or without compatibility view on).
When it comes to the bases page, it might be easier to navigate several pages at once if their heading links opened up into a new window (or tab) instead of in the I-frame itself. This is pretty easy to pull off with Javascript, and imo would look nicer and perform better. Forcing a user to open a new window when they click is generally frowned upon, though, and others might find it obtrusive to have so many windows open.
I hope that was at least semi-useful!

I'd happily make the base links open in new tabs if everybody wanted that.
Good thing to start a poll about, imo.

A quick thought is a way to form up into groups of PC MS. It never really made sense that you can have a personal MS Squad of NPCs, but PCs can't form an MS squad with other PCs without a ship.
