Background: When the war started, the EFSF paid about as much attention to the Lakota as they did before the war started. In spite of all the panic and emergency measures, conscription and production quotas, the Lakota Sioux of the American Midwest endured, their autonomy protected by truly ancient treaties, largely untouched by the war.
Although the Lakota had long-since adopted a more modern lifestyle, a few members of each tribe still work actively to keep their traditions alive. Raised on stories of Crazy Horse, Otaktai Lone Wolf committed himself to becoming a true and brave Lakota warrior. When the Earth Federation finally came calling, looking for conscripts, he joined willingly and was quickly assigned to the EFSF's flagging space assets.
Otaktai did well in training, and was given the stupendously unimaginative nickname "Lone Wolf" by the other members of his 4-week crash course in mobile suit piloting. Despite his inexperience, Otaktai has good focus and even better spatial awareness, and is stoic and uncomplaining both in combat and out.
