Dots are PCs and ships, I assume?

Uhh dots are PCs and ships, numbers are patrols and flags are bases.
Pretty self explanatory.

It's only self-explanatory if you take a lot of looks at the rosters and Tactical pages.
It looks like you also use the same icon for fleets and Fortifications/Mines/Ruins, leading to possible confusion over how many bases are in a region.
Using the same dot for ships and PCs also skews the perception of how many PCs there are.
Also, you aren't even consistent with the use of dots and fleet flags, as the Federation has a fleet in East Asia that you represent with dots instead of a flag.
The map idea is neat, but only if you put a little more thought into the system.

Fleets aren't represented by flags, only dots of the ships comprising them. The map is consistent, and I think gives a rather nice idea of what's where.

Iunno. I don't think fleets should just be represented by a clusterfuck of dots, other then that it's pretty cool.
Maybe toss in a triangle for fleets or something.

Fleets aren't represented by flags, only dots of the ships comprising them. So each ocean has two bases and there aren't any supply fleets on Earth?

This is horrible, the one on my wall is much cooler. I should take a picture of it tonight and show how horrible I am.

The map itself is a very good idea. b d.
Draco has good points about needing a key, and more icons to distinguish between bases, fleets, ships, etc. But I see what you're going for and think it would work.

I like it. Suddenly Africa doesn't look like a great vacation spot.

I was working on this yesterday. Came up with one that's on the large side, but gives the room needed to better depict objects on the map with little need for explanation. It took me about 20 minutes or so to update it last night after Ket finished updating so I tweaked some things and I think it should take about half that or less next time. The PSD is now organized and pretty clear on what everything is so anyone with experience using Photoshop should be able to figure it out quickly. Note: Players on a ship are only represented by the ship just as a ship in a fleet is only represented by the fleet. The location of all bases are as accurate as possible within the constraints of the game and without moving a base to a different region. img.photobucket.com/albums/v678/tylatz/tacticalmap.jpg
