Charles frequently appeared to have a passion for writing, maintaining a journal that he has put entries into every morning and evening. However he maintains a healthy relationship with squadmates.

Mr. Gano was born in New York City est. August 17th U.C. 0057, maintaining a healthy relationship with his parents and seeking out the arts and staying on track in school and out of trouble, he was on his way to college when the war broke out. He stated a design to join the EFGF after hearing the speeches of Gihren Zabi, he quickly developed a fierce disgust of Gihren as a leader, and with the events of the One Week War, cemented his anti-Zeon sentiment, although he sustains a belief in Spacenoid freedom, he feels this is the wrong way to solve they're problems.
Joining the EFGF on Feburary 19th U.C. 0079 in an attempt to defend his hometown, he enlisted (originally) as a tank pilot, following orders and training in a military academy. When Zeon landed in Odessa, Charles knew it meant that North America would certainly be attacked, however he had no idea that the NA would be right after Odessa. He was one of the few lucky enough to survive the battle of New York and escape to Belfast.
