So Odessa is coming up. It'll be a fun time but we will also need to have planned out an effective strategy. oywrpg4.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=effgeneral&action=display&thread=1620The bottom post of this thread has some details on Operation Odessa. Basically, there will be three fronts- Europe, North America and East Asia. We will probably be breaking up into at least two fleets in the coming weeks with PC's divided among them. Officers are currently working out what we think this split should look like but we want some input. I would like to hear what you guys think about: 1) What fronts we should focus on and what our strategy should be. 2) If you have a particular front you want your character to fight on for RP purposes. Please let us know what you think!

My pilot has a history of piloting a Tin Cod (check my bio), but he's in the Saberfish II. If it came down to it, would he be able to assist ground forces if I say bought an Lvl0 Tin Cod or Jet Core Booster and used it? I will probably take negatives for using the booster if I'm allowed to but since a Tin Cod was used in my past, I think I shouldn't
As for the focus. We have been getting our asses handed to us on the earth front.

I am certain Zeon will not be interested in investing in their naval fleet after so many failed missions with the Jukon class ship. This will give us supremacy in almost every engagement involving coastal bases. This being said, I would like to throw out the idea again of getting another Himalaya (loaded with to capacity with aircraft) and two Hillocks. This will give the EFGF the flexibility to focus on bigger fish in Europe while I assist our DDay forces in North America (California Base and New York) by giving them the upper hand. If Charles Gano and Viktor (doubtful judging from his inactivity) join me, this fleet will be unstoppable.

Nomad, no you will not be able to do that. We have hardly been getting our 'asses handed to us' just look at the SS. alekseiWe will most likely be buying two Hillocks. As for another Himalaya, we would have to see what the NPC fleets assisting us look like before we decide that.

Nader, we're going to need you in space. We're going to need all the manpower we can field in space.

By and far the most important front is Europe so divert most of our forces there. I think our PC fleet should either attack Constantinople or attack the Zeon PCs if they aren't on a base. North America I'm going to go out on a limb and say the Zeon won't focus too much on it. East Asia... I don't know that one is going to be a bitch, don't send Jack Murphy for sure.

Yeah, I think avoiding Norris Packard is a good idea.

For RP purposes, I would like to request either:
A) Europe B) Wherever there are a lot of Gaws that need shooting
I am tempted to say:
C) Apsalus
but only if it doesn't involve defending bases while repairing in a snowstorm. I don't particularly want to cheat death like that again.

Man, Packard's level 11... What does that equate to in terms of VP? Something crazy, I'm sure.
Anyway, I'd like to echo everyone else and say that Europe seems the best route to go. If we knock out Archangelsk and Constantinople, then the continent is ours, in addition to Odessa.
As for myself, I'll go wherever. Probably, I should try to figure out where Efreet will be but there's no way of knowing that and I'm sure we'll both converge on Odessa.

Kyle would prefer fighting on the East Asian front or with a few veterans, but will gladly go wherever his superiors deem best.

thomas lvl 11 = 11*16 = 176VP Yeah, you will probably be in Europe. ThreidIf you really want to fight on the East Asian front we can probalby work it out, otherwise you will most likely be fighting in Europe.

FeydIt's not that important. I don't have any specific RP ideas in mind for an East Asian front, and would rather be effective than demanding. Put Slater where you want him.

ThreidIt'd be cool if you came to Europe or were assigned there, because in the open land of Europe the weapons of your RX-79[G] would better come in handy.
