Appearance:
Imposing at 6'4 and 230lbs. He is rugged and light in skin tone (European ancestry), sporting a short brown beard, no mustache, and short, messy hair usually contained under a cap or beret. He has narrow green eyes and usually wears a pair of glasses when not in combat alerts.
Personality:
When out of hostile zones, Kai is fairly easy-going and is kind to the crew of the Duke.
While he is usually lax, he gets a sort of single minded focus on the battle plan when engaged and often is seen running around giving assistance to his crew on the bridge when they need it. He is not the kind of commander who will sit idly by and bark orders when the time for action comes.
Brief History:
He hails from a small city in Europe and a family of middle-class laborers. He has one younger sister and no other siblings. His family opposed his movement into the ranks of the military, but he was focused on aiding the Earth Federation, as he was down on his luck and they cut a decent paycheck.
Things got progressively more real for him when a few buddies who had become grunts and fighter pilots were killed in action at the onset of the war. Heartbroken, he turned his dedication solely to his studies at the academy and worked hard to increase his rank and standing with the top brass.
He quickly went through the requirments and thanks to that dedication and the fact the EFSF needed good people, he ended up with the Duke placed under his care. While he may be relatively inexperienced with live combat, he has shown good leadership and organizational abilities. Leading to a crew he can hopefully depend on and enough smarts to last through the war.
