Back StoryThe Korps Commandotroepen (KCT) are the elite special forces of the Royal Netherlands Army. It has been the special operations force for the country since the end of the second World War, however during the One Week War against Zeon, the entire unit was whipped out following the detonation of a nuclear weapon in a colony where the unit was stationed. The unit was not officially disbanded by no new unit was created under its name, as resources for the war effort were not considered important for infantry only special forces. The advent of the Federation use of Mobile Suits however, presented a need for a new type of special forces unit. Therefore, one of the last remaining Dutch Brigades, the 42nd Brigade was selected to form the basis of a new type of special forces units with integrated mobile suits. The uniform of the KCT is just a black uniform with the emblem of the unit on their shoulders and a black beret with another emblem. MSC-06/LMSD-77 Orange Base
Ship Class: Pegasus Assault Carrier
Following Operation Odessa and the success of White Base, General Revil realized the importance of having a strong support cast around its high tech mobile suits, and quickly organized the creation of units similar to White Base. This resulted in the creation of units such as The Scarlet Team around the new Gundam Alex, with its Pegasus support craft, the Gray Phantom. The proven battle testing of the Blue Destiny unit piloted by Thorvald Siggurdson drew attention to the need of a support unit around the unit. As the Blue Destiny was already commanded by Nigel Ferdinand and the 42nd Brigade which was one of the most battle tested units to this point in the war, it made logical sense that the 42nd Brigade would be the next in line to receive the cousin ship of the Gray Phantom. This unit known as the MSC-06/LMSD-77 Orange Base was built to keep with mobility in mind, as the Zeon had seen the Blue Destiny in so many engagements under Thorvald that they thought the Federation was fielding several of the units. As the sixth unit produced in the Pegasus class of ship the Orange Base was very similar to the Gray Phantom but was distinguished by a Black and Orange paint scheme.
Built under the code name "Operation Orange", the ship was the final piece for the re-creation of the Korps Commandotroepen (KCT), the Dutch special operations unit, that had been killed during the One Week War. Operation Orange received its name from the fact that the selection for the new KCT came under the command of the Dutch King, Nigel Ferdinand, who is known as the Prince of Orange.

Mobile Suit Teams
KCT MS-01 / MST-076 "Faeries"
The first mobile suit team of the KCT is the Faeries. Despite their girlish name they are perhaps one of the most experienced combat units in the Earth Federation and act as the special operations unit within the KCT. The Faeries received their name after 1st Lieutenant Ferdinand was asked what he would like to name the unit, to which he responded, "I don't know they are a bunch of faeries." This no doubt came from the fact that the pilot of the Blue Destiny in the unit Thorvald is well known to have his suit controlled by what he calls "Faeries."

KCT MS-02 / MST-077 "Beam Team"
The second mobile suit team of the KCT is designed as its weapons assault team, which received its name from a team, the only one left of which is Kyle Slater, that is known primary known for its actions during Operation Odessa. It has sense become one of the better known mobile suit teams in the Federation as well, considered in high regard for its well crafted team work in battle.
