TAF are fags and keep hijacking the chat while I'm trying to think.
Tianem's biggest and only real advantage is ship number. Aside from that, he's got 5 GMs, a handful of balls(hurr), and 30 Saberfish, all of which are conveniently stored on one Columbus.
The big idea here is to use our MS forces to take out as much ship-power as we can before the main ZEF force arrives. Since we won't see much resistance on the Mobile Suit front, We may only want to keep a handful of NPCs (or, perhaps one or two PCs) on Anti-MS duty. Everyone else brings a Bazooka.
In terms of getting close, we have a few options. Option one is to do what we did to Bollocks and hide in a Shoal Zone, then jump out like a surprise party gone horribly wrong. Bits would be easy to hide, and if our suits were idle, pretending to be shoal would certainly let us right into the thick of things when the trap is sprung. Plus there's lots to hide behind when the pew pew starts.
Then again, Tianem isn't a retard and I doubt he'd fall for that.
OPTION TWO. Seta's idea was to get a small team of MS/bits very close by means of dummy asteroids. This could be used to devastating effect, but it's also borderline suicidal.
The other matter we need to think about is how we want the ZEF to engage. Space is not just up-down-forward-backward. We need to think of an angle of attack that would either put Tianem in a vulnerable position or prevent him from bringing the entire fleet's guns to bear on us at once.
SO. THOUGHTS.

My idea was that I take a few Zaku Kais and float around in those dummy asteroids, hopefully get close enough that once the ZEF engages, my team will pop out and quickly gang up on the nearest ship then move onto the next; Maximum of two, taking into account the sortie time and fuel consumption of the Zaku Kais. Once that objective is complete, the Kais can move back into the fleet and I'll join up with the main attacking force.

We could try outmaneuvering them or approaching from an axis on which they can't train their guns on us - below and behind seem to be weak spots for any space warship. But with balloon cover and MS support - since if we lose some of the support Zakus, well, no skin off our backs since they'd vanish after the battle anyway. Perhaps use one MS support to keep Kuriboh safe so as to free up the more experienced NPCs/PCs to engage the enemy.
The debris option is a good one - while Tianem may not be stupid, there's bound to be enough wreckage from all the battles that he can't exactly avoid it - we're not going to be able to lure him in, true, but it's useful as cover what with Minovsky particles fucking with sensors and debris only makes the matter worse.
Another option is that we make a dummy fleet of...Conscon and sent that at him while we hit Tianem from behind, hoping he falls for it - pincer attacks work well, usually.

....Actually I kind of love the Dummy Conscon idea.

Okay, so here's the deal.
With Jaburo coming around and with Bollocks repairing faster than normal, we can't afford to attack Tianem. Not much of a loss on for us since we can always gank him later on.
So we're looking at Jaburo coming up REAL SOON. What I expect to happen (which I can be wrong about), is our role at Jaburo would be to shoot down those drydocked ships coming up.
It'll be easier if Bollocks isn't around to bother us.
So today I was in the lab with Twysted and decided to do some brainstorming. We had a white erase board and the large screen projector so we loaded everything up and had a look.
Bollocks would be one day behind us and the best idea we got is to decoy them or bait them. If we get them to attack something or be defensive, we can prevent them from arriving at Earth Orbit for Jaburo or arrive there damaged.
The best idea we got for this? Purgatorio.
The plan is to move Purgatorio towards Side 5 on Day 1 while ZEF is still repairing. It'll take all week and it will give everyone the impression that we are going to invade Side 5 and Texas Colony. Meanwhile on Day 2, ZEF will move into +2DE (which gives the impression that it's moving into Side 5 first to clear the way).
Day 3, ZEF moves into +1DE. This will confuse Bollocks. There is a big fat target going towards them at Side 5. They can either stay in Side 5 for the inevitable Purgatorio, or move into +2DE.
Day 4, ZEF is in +0DE. Purgatorio is in Side 5. If Bollocks attacks Purgatorio they will not be able to make it to Jaburo. If they ignore it and move into +2DE, they will be forced to either go after the ZEF (because us going in that direction means bad news) or go after Purgatorio which is a spawn center for us.
Then on the week leading to Jaburo, if the RX-78-1 is still in EO, we can jump him. We can also curbstomp the EO patrols, goto California Base, load up on ships, and move back to EO for Jaburo.
Losing Purgatorio would hurt but the promotions we would get from Jaburo will make up for the loss. If Jaburo doesn't happen then we can take out Luna II Def Fleet or something.
What do you guys think?

I like it. But you're going to let us minebuilders catch up first, right?

I'm just not sure we want to hand them a base with a mine on it. Is there any way to strip-mine it at the last second so they don't use the mine on it against us?
But I agree with the rest of this plan - we need to kick things into high gear here.

Radune: Yes, we're all meeting up on +2DE on the same day.
I have 14x Marines on that thing and other defenses. They will have difficulty capturing it. Their only choice is to destroy it.

Well, Ketara made a good point on the main page. Caleb DeGrau, Olivia Baklitskaia, Felix Mendalshon, and Junichi Ghettid just finished repairing on the ZEF at Purgatorio. Yoritomo Naizen still has one day of repair.
I would like Caleb DeGrau, Olivia Baklitskaia, Felix Mendalshon, and Junichi Ghettid to spar each other today since we won't be seeing combat for at least one update afterward.

I'll pass the creds this coming update. Sorry for the tardiness, I almost always fall asleep after work.
Copy on that sparring jig.

If we wind up going after the Luna II defense fleet, we'll need to find a way to negate Yazan. Because any NPC above level 9 will prove...ah...troublesome to us.

I hope everyone joined the Zeon Expeditionary Force today. I moved the ZEF into +1DE.
