Paris

Nothing stands a crueler reminder to the Great War than what used to be the city of Paris. Embattled on all sides with a French Resistance that refused to give up, the German Empire’s desire for conquest soon became nothing more than a massive war of scorched Earth. City after city fell, each being utterly destroyed and their populations being forcibly integrated into the rest of the Empire until finally the dissent in Paris grew too great to be contained. The city was razed, millions perished in the fires, the site of the city was quickly swept away and in it’s place stands nothing more than a massive mining complex.
