DWM’s Manufacturing Site #1 is the center of production for its high-quality mobile suits, and after the mysterious destruction of Manufacturing Site #2 is the only one currently in operation. The base is situated outside the thorpe of Haljem, about two hundred miles to the northwest of Oslo, and includes a number of facilities to send completed machines out to prospective customers as well as a very well provisioned security force. Access is strictly by appointment only, and even Earth Union inspectors must call in in advance before being allowed to survey the site.

The base is a very large industrial and fabrication center, with most of the complex machining and assembly work done in subterranean complexes while only the initial shipping and receiving facilities are positioned on the surface, along with a ramp-type spaceport and a large dock facility on the Bjoernefjord. The military compound, with its bomb-proof hangars and central repair bay, is positioned directly above the manufacturing complex to provide a final layer of passive protection. The command center is situated under an observation tower atop the military compound, which is also where outbound flights are coordinated. The entire base concourse has had an anti-beam ablative paint layered on it, as DWM is all too aware of the “excavation properties” of particularly high-output beam weaponry. Defensively, the arrangement is similar to an Earth Sphere Alliance base, without a clearly defined perimeter and utilizing a variety of defensive gun batteries that emerge from concealed bunkers below the surface to attack incoming enemies. Mobile suits are intended to be deployed to form flexible fire lines as gun batteries are brought out and then hidden away, forcing an approaching attack force to deal with a very mobile defense.
