Earth Surface Map
Earth is also subdivided into different regions, based on geographic factors such as oceans, rivers, mountains, and other regional features. All units, including players, may only move across a limited number of regions per update, and note that traveling across corners of multiple region intersections is not permitted. Political control of different regions, as well as the location of known bases, is shown on the large version.
Earth Sphere Map
The immediate area around Earth is home to 98% of humanity, and consequently contains the vast majority of the action in the RPG. The distances involved in travel within this area are relatively small by stellar standards, meaning most ships and mobile suits are capable of moving freely in this area. Likewise, the close proximity of several bases and colony clusters means help is usually not far in the event of running out of supplies or fuel. Most units, including players can move one region on this map per update.
Solar System Map
Mankind has long been at ease in voyaging to much of the Sol System, but in spite of Earth’s economic and social recovery much of the planet’s brethren remain uninhabited or untouched. Travel outside of the immediate Earth Sphere requires an interplanetary booster as most ships simply lack the fuel or supply capability to exist that far away from a port for long periods of time. Likewise, an individual player marooned in deep space will find themselves in a lonely mobile suit-shaped coffin before long. Unless otherwise noted, ships can only travel one section of the Solar System per update.
