The Ο (Omicron Gundam) is the second mobile suit in the Xi series. An improvement on the original unit, the Omicron is outfitted with both new equipment, and armament. The most important addition to the Omicron is the Minovsky Control Unit. The M-Control Unit increases the efficiency of the existing Minovsky Craft System, as well as adding a new functionality to it, in the form of a pulse attack, which can be used to repulse an enemy mobile suit. The Minovsky Control Unit also allows the I-Field Beam Barrier, to be improved to a beam deflection system, able to redirect opponent’s beam attacks back at them.

A new feature the Omicron features is a set of hidden sub-arms in the front skirt armor, able to wield a pair of internally mounted beam sabers during melee combat, or to store an additional optional armament, beyond wha the Omicron is already carrying. Also the Omicron has gained a new toy by the way of the Pak42B Electrochemical Rifle. The Pak42B uses shells filled with a liquid propellant (hence the chemical), ignited using an electric charge (hence the electrical). These shells are as powerful as a railgun’s, but the advantage of using a more traditional firing mechanism allows them to fire much faster than a railgun. This gun also mounts an under barrel grenade launcher holding three grenades for some extra “umph.”

Additionally the Omicron now boasts increased performance compared to its previous iteration, a combination of more powerful thrusters, and more efficient Minovsky Craft System.
