The improved version of the Epyon, the Diablos is a force to be reckoned with improved weapons, armor, and sensors. Easily the most notable change to the mobile suit is its new black highlights, corresponding with Dimitri Strathmore’s own Black Wing upgrade. Also corresponding with Strathmore’s update is the newly installed Synchronized Epyon System, allowing the two pilots to coordinate their actions flawlessly.

Additionally the Diablos greatly improves the Epyon’s performance, a numerous amount of thrusters built into the wings themselves giving it’s already great speed a serious kick in the pants. Additionally both of the wings (as well as the large, shoulder-mounted shields) have had a layer of anti-beam armor applied to them, strengthening the already impressive Gundanium armor.

In terms of weapons the Epyon has gained a second heat rod, but more impressively both of the heat rods have been greatly improved, able to shoot out for meters in the same vein as the Altron Custom’s Dragon Fangs, while still maintaining their previous function, as well as having a high-speed spinning tip for piercing both barriers and armor even easier. These are made all the more deadly by the Epyon’s improved Search Eye, a sensor designed not to detect stealth units, but instead ensure that the Epyon’s whips find their targets by registering targets positions and feeding that information directly to the pilot.

As well as having the wings reinforced with anti-beam armor, and improved with more thrusters, the wings have also had an edge applied to the tips, giving the Epyon more weapons to choose from in close range combat, the wings able to be used in anti-mobile suit and ship functions.

Though the Diablos’ beam sword hasn’t been upgraded much from its previous iteration, it is no longer bound by a cable to the Epyon’s reactor. Made more efficient in terms of power consumption, the beam sword still features the same strength and size, but is powered by a small battery inside that can maintain the blade for what is effectively indefinite periods of time.
