The Guantanamo Naval Dock Yard encompasses much of the formerly verdant shores of either side of the Bahia de Guantánamo, serving as the forward staging point of the Alliance Navy into the Atlantic Ocean as well as the effective center of operations in Cuba, which survived the colony drops that devastated North America virtually intact.

Rather unlike Alliance bases seen elsewhere, Guantanamo is a veritable fortress and it plays the part neatly, with a high defensive wall on either side of the bay stippled with weapon emplacements, making it difficult to approach from land. The base quickly gives way to rolling jungles further up the bay, and the city of Caimanera is separated from the installation by several miles of dense foliage. Access to the base is essentially by air or sea only, as there are no openings in the wall to facilitate transit on land (and no roads linking the base to other points of interest nearby either).

The opening of the harbor is heavily mined, creating a perilous approach for anyone not familiar with the area, and Alliance dive units frequently “alter” the safe approach paths just in case.

Present: Guatanamo recently suffered a massive attack from the infamous Kale and his compatriots, and has been completely levelled.
