The corpse of Axis and the Devil Gundam float in orbit of the Moon, even to this day. Massive chunks of rock, eerie metallic bones, floating, frozen corpses, unexploded warheads, and the rended, twisted, and melted remains of thousands of mobile suits and hundreds of ships still mark the fury of humanity’s final stand against the demon.

Axis has been quite effectively destroyed, hollowed out and then blown apart by the explosion within itself. In addition, much of the wreckage in the area is radioactive. Newtypes prefer to avoid the Mausoleum when possible, as some claim to be able to hear the cries of the dead.

Axis is completely unsalvageable. The only people who dare go to the Mausoleum are either crazy or stupid, as the highly radioactive wreckage, massive debris fields, and unexploded munitions make it a death trap for all but the most skilled or lucky of pilots. Some talks have been under way to clean up the mess, but nothing concrete has emerged as of yet.
